+1 yI want to say that I don't - and honestly I make every effort to treat all men equally. But I think subconsciously, even if you're not an asshole to an uglier guy, if you're in a company with a good looking guy and an ugly guy - you'll treat the good looking one better. You'll engage with the good looking one in conversation more, you'll flirt with the good looking one more, you'll try to partner the good looking one in sports more. While you may not be an asshole, I think it will show that on some level you discriminate against the ugly one more. What do they call it? 'Subjective bias'?

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI used to be very good looking, but I got hit with a whole bunch of health, financial and psychological shit all at once. Now I'm a crippled fat guy who can barely walk without a cane.
Unless they're at work virtually all women treat me like I'm some kind of revolting beast. They won't make eye contact, turn up their noses, pretend not to hear me if I say hello or good morning while on a walk.
Any time they have even a shred of power over me they're extremely vindictive with it. HR people, and bankers come to mind.
Guys treat me worse too, but at least they're generally fair and civil. They just never make any extra effort to be helpful.
The pandemic has been awesome for me, because I get treated better when people can't see me.
It's pretty shitty to have known "pretty privilege" and then not only lose it, but be treated as sub human, for being a victim of illness.
TLDR: people are aweful.41 Reply- +1 y
This makes me sad :( I'm sorry you've been going through such a shitty experience.
I’m not a woman but I don’t think they treat anybody worse for how they look. They might treat guys they find more attractive better but I doubt they’d actively treat anyone badly because of their appearance. At least for normal people but there are bad people who would treat someone worse for it.

No. If anything I feel like I do the opposite. If they are the traditional "good looking" type and they know it, it rubs me the wrong way. Anyone who isn't like that I'm nicer too. I think it's the entitlement vibe I get off some of them, not all. Especially if it's in a work setting. I don't particularly like cocky people. And if I see "looks" being used for gain, then that's when I say something. I probably should just keep it to myself. I'm working on it. But usually I treat everyone the same regardless how anyone looks.

What Girls & Guys Said

First; I don’t use the word ugly as I don’t believe anyone is objectively just down right ugly.
I believe that beauty is subjective and in the eye of the beholder and because of that just because I personally don’t find someone the most attractive physically doesn’t mean they aren’t attractive. It just means that I’m not attracted to them.
With that being said, nope. If anything I treat men I’m not attracted to better as it’s easier to talk to them since I’m not shy or nervous at secretly liking them.22 Reply- +1 y
I have the same belief... to a point.
If I'm not attracted to someone I just say that they're not my type because so many times I've seen girls that I consider unattractive and then see guys who consider that same girl very attractive.
I don't think that there's anyone who's universally attractive but however I do believe that there are people who are universally 'ugly' and if u d don't agree, I dare u to google 'Lizzie Velasquez' - 1 mo
"First; I don’t use the word ugly as I don’t believe anyone is objectively just down right ugly." we got another one for sainthood over here, boss
Be so for real. Lmao.
+1 yI don't know about the "worse" but I can say women do treat ugly guys differently than they do the attractive ones.
Women want to be hit on by men they find attractive. So, when an unattractive guy does it, they act different. More accepting to the attractive one, more repulsive to the ugly one.
You know who else does this? Men.
Men don't want ugly women. They don't chase them and it's very unlikely they will date them if they have better options.41 Reply- 1 mo
"I don't know about the "worse" but I can say women do treat ugly guys differently than they do the attractive ones."
Yep, and no apologies about that either. Ugly men are just as capable of being horny and mistaking politeness for interest as other men.
I don’t treat people badly unless they treat me badly first.
There are however people who just get on my nerves for no apparent reason.. perhaps their personality or aura annoy me (as I am sure I could also be annoying to someone else for just being me) and instead of being mean to them I rather just not get in their way to not have to interact with them so as to avoid an unpleasant situation. Why treat someone bad for basically nothing? That’s awful.20 Reply
+1 yWell yes. But the way you've phrased the question saying "worse" has made most women answer "no". Had you said "do you treat men better if they are good looking" most people would for sure have said yes. It's more of a psychological thing. Of course women treat people they find attractive better, they' like for him to like them, and are unintentionally being nicer because of it. That's just called being human.

+1 yI wouldn't treat him different or worse. But I wouldn't date a guy I found unattractive.
I treat people according to how they treat me, and according to how I perceive them as a person, not by their appearance.
Treating someone bad based on their appearance alone is a form of bullying, and that says a lot about who they are as a person.10 Reply

If you look like this I'm gonna treat you better ngl, but usually yeah. I don't know I feel like if someone looks like this just more motivated to be nice to them. I mostly hate everyone tbh
00 ReplyNo , but sometimes is actu vice versa.
I twnd to go well along ugly girls coz sometimes they are much better in nature than beautiful ones
Pretty ones tend to get a ego or attitude towards their looks and then are confused if i like them or not (sometimes I'm too lol, but otherwise I'm not)10 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yNo I treat people equally. I have a very friendly personality and i try to be nice to girls, guys, and even guys I find ugly. I've been told in the past some guys usually the ones I was not attracted to would take that as me "being interested in them" and I would tell them in a polite way of course that I don't think of them romantically, and that I'm just really friendly around people.

+1 yNo. I treat people the way I would like to be treated. I treat all men the same. I'm careful how I engage men in conversation. Especially, if I'm not attracted to you or see a potential casual or serious relationship with. It doesn't matter if you're unattractive or not. If you don't fit my criteria, you don't fit my criteria.
00 ReplyNo I don’t... if anything I give “ugly” guys a chance and I really get to know them because I think personality means a lot. But then I’m like FUCK I like them but I’m not physically attracted and I can’t help it.

So what do you do then?
- +1 y
@VioletAsh That's kinda sad. At least be honest with them up front that it can't go anywhere.
I believe everyone naturally does. But oftentimes people don't realize it since the majority of people in the world are ugly to them. It stands out more when there are attractive people around to really show the difference.

+1 yNo I wouldn't treat anyone badly unless they treated me bad. Looks wouldn't have anything to do with that
20 ReplyI don't often see anyone I find "ugly." Generally I treat everyone the same. When I was younger, I did feel intimidated by gorgeous men. Consequently, I acted different around them. I hated that, but my ego couldn't allow me to avoid them. Until I developed some self-confidence and social skills, I made a bit of a fool of myself.
