+1 yA gift from God!
Having children is a Gift from God.
Psalm 127:3 Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him
They will bring you joy.
John 16:20-22 Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the pain because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
They will help you grow in responsibility and help decrease your selfishness because you are putting your child before yourself.
Philippians 2:3-4. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you (looking) to the interests of the others
God loves you more than you can love a child. Having a child is an analogical representation of God and (us as) His children.
Matthew 7:8-11 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

+1 yGift. I loved being pregnant. I loved feeling the baby move and knowing there was this tiny person growing inside my body. I didn't look forward to delivering, but I delivered all of them naturally without pain meds and would have had a bunch more if my husband agreed.

+1 yIt’s the most wonderful feeling I’ve ever experienced in my life. The journey of pregnancy wasn’t easy and full of struggles to keep myself the baby healthy for 9 months. It is a special gift for those that wants to have babies and feel the pure love between a mother and her kid and a curse for those women that don’t want a baby at all and see it as burden.
60 ReplyIt's a curse. I would do better without it. I mean, I would like to have children, but everything related to pregnancy and childbirth is not fun. I would just prefer to have the "end result" in my hands without going through that, but of course that's not possible.
If I had the money I would do it with a surrogate mother. Why go through that?28 Reply- +1 y
That’s honestly what’s wrong with people… they want but are unwilling to work for it -.-
- +1 y
Same, I'd rather just get a surrogate mother than go through the hell that is childbirth.
Asker+1 yWhy would you want to put a surrogate through that then
- +1 y
If they're willing to have the baby for me, then what's the issue?
- +1 y
Ignore women their selfish bitches and most arnt worth your second thought.
- +1 y
@VanillaSalt It's not that I'm not willing to do the work. I would do it, but it's a curse, I mean the pregnancy and childbirth. And also having to deal with your body after childbirth to minimize the damage. But of course the child is a blessing.
- +1 y
not everyone handles the same situation the same. Some woman want to go through that even without painkillers and some woman have a lot of children because they want to. Some women would be surrogate mothers for a lot of money.
And some women have medical issues which make the pregnancy more difficult for them. Some are not psychologically strong. - +1 y
I apologize. I want what only you can give but I don’t want you.
Nothing in life worth having don’t come at the cost of blood, sweat, and tears. didn't care for the way you talked about child birth.
Neither. It's just how our bodies are built, and we can either take advantage of our bodies capabilites to reproduce or choose not to. But a woman's ability to bear children doesn't hinder her everyday life. Besides having a period, which for some women is a curse. Ofc there are ways to manage our periods and make them less of an issue.

+1 yI wouldn't say it's either. Definitely not an easy feat like people make it out to be. It's incredibly sad how many women can't speak up about how they're feeling because pregnancy is painted as this magical, amazing thing and the birth is the "only" hard part about it. Which is not true in the slightest

+1 yFor me a gift. A child it the most valuable thing a woman can give me… but… good damn if I’m not finding it stupid difficult not to hate the women themselves.
I don’t want to hate them and want to think their their gifts as well but… fact is I don’t see many women that should be allowed kids.00 ReplyIt's a gift and it's a beautiful gift to see a mother holding her child. It's something so beautiful words don't do it justice. Have seen it before. Hits you in a place in your soul you didn't know existed. Hopefully someday I can be a dad and have a loving family and witness that beautiful miracle again with the person that I love most.

+1 yI don't view it as such. Fertility is such a touchy topic to those who cannot bear any at all. It is a great honor when a woman is willing to become pregnant by the man she shares a mutual love for. The fact that she is willing is a great dedication of her love for him. Some women are unfortunate and with PCOS on the rise, complications are frightening.

+1 yProbably a bit of both. It's definitely great for those who want children, but pregnancy and childbirth has always really scared me, especially since it seems like there are so many things that can go wrong and everything about it seems painful.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIt's pretty clearly a gift seeing as how none of us would be here without it.
Also, if you don't want it, you can always opt not to get pregnant, so there's that.
It's kind of like people bitching and moaning about how tons and tons of money is a curse somehow. You don't have to have it if you don't want it.00 Reply741 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. It's the price that women collectively pay for not having to build and maintain all of the utilities and services that make a cushy modern life possible.

+1 yHow can 40% of women think this is a curse? Like, do they hate their own bodies? That is crazy to me.
02 Reply- +1 y
@beefy40 it's a real shame. Children are beautiful! That said, I think it's not just the left that brainwashes women. Our periods are literally described as "The Curse" - that's a saying which transcends political leanings. I disagree with it. I don't have a problem with having a period at all. We need to stop shaming womanhood - and manhood.
Depends on you're view of life...
For me it's a gift cause I can let my child grow in a different way better than my experience

+1 ySince the continued existence of the human species is contingent on it, if you you think it’s a curse I would question your emotional or mental stability.
01 Reply860 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Curse because of the menstruation that is necessary to be able to do that.

But periods last for few days and only some years of life...
- +1 y
Yeah it is around 5-7 days in a month or so and it lasts upt the age of 45-50 ... so it's not
that periods last for full 50 years... they start at the age of 11-13 and last till age of 45-50 so I guess it's about 35-40 years - +1 y
at least being a female you are given more physical aesthetics , nicer body and many other charming things. Males are given much uglier and messier things that last till their last breath
- +1 y
@wowvrsocool It really makes me angry when males think they know more about periods than women do. How are you going to tell ME how long bleeding lasts for me each month? FYI, for me personally, it's usually 10 days. A person who's actually experienced these things knows more about it than what you've read somewhere. It's not an exact science and is not the same for everyone. The ages of menopause vary as well. Most women are able to still have kids throughout their 40's, therefore they still menstruate. There are women who have had babies in their 50's as well. There are also girls who start having periods while still in elementary school.
- +1 y
Sorry if I offended you. Don't mind it.
But I was talking about a general thing. Exceptions are always there in everything and things vary from person to person.
I don't know as a male I feel females are way better and fortunate enough. at least they're blessed with nice physical aesthetics , charm , more beauty , more sex appeal , more nicer physical traits / things compared to the males.
As a male we have to deal with beard / facial hair forever... kepp shaving our face till we die and still we don't have that soft smooth face as women naturally have been blessed with. Not to mention we also have way coarsely animalistic body hair here there and everywhere unlike the females. Our genitals are ugly and fragile unlike females. We do loose head hair with age and that makes us look more ugly/animal - +1 y
Ok. My bad :/
Basically as a male I'd much rather be a female and have menstruation alongwith physical aesthetics, beauty, charm and smooth skin... than being a male and having to deal with penis , hairy body and baldness
Totally a curse. It is our punishment bc of what eve did.
01 Reply- +1 y
Women are more fortunate and blessed than males... so it's lucky to be born as a female
+1 yWell from a biblical standpoint (Genesis 3:16) it's technically both, However if not looking at procreation in that sense it would depend who you ask I guess

+1 yIt's a gift. Unless if pregnancy is not a choice like they get pregnant for no reason, that would be a curse.
01 Reply- +1 y
Those who complain it's a curse just don't realize they just don't have to be pregnant. That's all
It is a tough job. But if someone didn’t bear children the human race wouldn’t last long!
