Girls, Been really good friends for 16 years. Finally asked her on a date and we had the BEST night! Haven't heard anything since. What's up?

I have been really good friends with this girl for 16 years and finally asked her out on a date after texting and whatever else. Pretty sure there's is romantic in addition to platonic attraction but neither of us have said anything. We have a lot of common interests and lots to talk about since we came up from elementry school together so it was great s We had the best night conversation was awesome and we flirted up a storm! THanked her for a great time and then later sent her a Christmas card with a nice message and a coffee card/second date ask. She said she enjoyed herself and even posted a picture quoting and naming me on IG with a thank you. I haven't really heard from her since though. It's been over a week and mostly she just has responded with emojis although she sent me the pictures from the night and said she pray for me recently. What's up? Am I being ghosted? Is she just needing "me" time to process everything? What's the best /most loving thing to do? She's gone a while without responding before.

it could be 1, she's trying to find a way to let you down easy. 2, she's genuinely busy with other aspects of her life. or 3, she has depressive symptoms and she isolates herself for some amounts of time. I've definitely struggled with the third one in relationships. I often isolate myself from my SO and they eventually leave. anyways, i wish you the best of luck. :)

yeah probably? you could reach out and ask her if she's ok, or just be straight up and tell her there's no pressure but to tell you what's going on between you when she's ready

Taking the step of making a long term relationship more than platonic is a massive thing. She may need time to process and consider what this could mean for you both, and the possibility of losing what you have if it doesn'twork would scare her. a lot of woman over analysis. I would back down alittle and give her that space. Swing her a text here and there to check in but don't be overbearing.
