Why do women often like to label their ex-bf as abusive?

When I hear this, I always take it with a grain of salt. Seems like every time a woman breaks up with a guy or a guy with a girl, she's gonna say he was abusive-at least verbally abusive. Never was one bit of the failed relationship her fault. You'd think the world is only populated by horrible guys and innocent women. It's like a reflex for women. Its only natural to question whether a guy was truly abusive when you hear it come from a woman's mouth. Of course not all women this, but when you hear it a few times and know it not to be true, you always have a bit of suspicion.

You can say whatever hateful shit you want to me or about me because of the above statement, but I experienced it for myself.

When I was a teenager, I dated a girl who claimed I laid my hands on her when I have never done so on anybody at any point in my life. The irony of it is that this same girl swung on her mother over some trivial argument involving an Ipad or laptop (I can't recall what exactly... this was easily 10 years ago). Of course, only my closest friends at the time believed me but as for everyone else... I was getting death threats and rumors kept spreading that I hit women. I would not be shocked if those same idiots are repeating the same shit all these years later... but I'm not in ocntact with a single one of them.

All a woman has to do is say "he did (this, this and that) to me" and regardless of whether or not it's true, the general public will believe it and that man's reputation, career and social life is more likely than not fucked. It's a shame too, because it takes away from people who have actually experienced abuse.

It's tempting to pull out the metaphorical violin these days, but for me... I just don't have an opinion until I hear from both sides.
