Why do women brag or fish by complaining?

It seems as if women think complaining is the only mode of communication available to them. No matter what they're trying to get across, it must be voiced in the form of a complaint.

Maybe you are eliciting this response by your own behavior? If it’s consistent that would be my bet. Nobody is ever one thing, but they will give the same feelings toward a single person if irritated by them.

This isn't about personal interactions, or I'd agree. It's just an observation. Women aren't likely to say "I went out with friends last night and felt really good about myself because several guys hit on me". They'll say something like "why can't men leave women alone when they're having a girls night out". And then the proceeding convo is all about what she was wearing and how sexy she felt.

Woman don’t think or even talk with each other the same way that men do. Your first quote is what men would say. Your second quote is what woman feel when creepy men hit on woman and don’t take no for an answer (details that are important for context). Your last line, again, is just a gender difference. You are choosing to make it a personal thing and further warp it into something it isn’t.

Again, I disagree. I've heard the conversations first-hand. They were complaining as a way of bragging, not out of disgust or disappointment. As soon as a compliment comes at them, the subject changes to where she bought her clothes, how she picked which shoes to wear, how her skirt makes her ass look, etc.

I've had women I've dated use the same tactic to try and get some sort of response from me. "I wish so-and-so would stop hitting on me at work". And it's so obvious. Ask her if she's told him to stop, she says yes. Tell her to file a complaint, and in comes the excuse that she doesn't want to get him in any trouble. Then ask why she's telling me if she doesn't want any trouble for him... crickets. So you don't want me to meet him in the parking lot and stomp his ass? "No, of course not". So then what was the point in telling me?

It's just nothing but mind games from the start.

Yep, to some degree…they seem to mix it up too. There’s never a pure positive.

Like men, women tend to vent to clear out frustrations. Obv that’s not their only form of communication. Can you tell when someone is venting?

Sure, but venting frustrations isn't what I'm talking about. I'm talking about when they want to say something positive, but instead voice it as a complaint to get other people to say something positive in response. Or if something happened that made her feel good about herself, she'll voice it as "why do men do this?" Can women just not state positive things plainly?

Again generally speaking women tend to hint more while men are more blunt. Also they will communicate emotionally. We gotta enjoy these differences bro

Yeah, that's called being manipulative. I can't be socially pressured enough to appreciate someone who can't just say what they mean and mean what they say. I can appreciate tact, but subtle hints are intended to preserve deniability while manipulating you into doing something. And if you call them out on the hint, "that's not what I meant". I just don't see why anybody puts up with it

Choosing to always see communication as manipulation isn’t wise. While that’s possible also keep in mind hinting can come From insecurities or trying to be sensitive. Everyone is an individual so it’s not like all women are out to use men. What a horrible world this would be if that’s the case
