Like when your hair, nails, makeup, lashes etc isn’t done as a woman, women won’t compliment you at all or as much but once you switch up one thing rather it’s all of the above I named or one out of all the things I naked it’s “Omg you look so pretty.” I appreciate it but was I ugly before? Lol

No everyone appreciates when someone takes care of themself more so when they don’t I wouldn’t expect anyone to compliment me if I went out in sweats with my hair not done no makeup for example, I get where you are coming from tho it would be better for someone to say I like what you did with your lashes or hair.

Yea, but I guess if they thought you weren’t attractive in General it would just be “I like you hair nails etc “ nothing beyond that, never really including how it makes you look lol

I definitely get where you’re going with this, but I wouldn’t necessarily categorize that as a backhanded compliment lol just saying you look nice because you usually don’t do your makeup and stuff, not saying you look bad without. If anything it’s a feeling of being insulted. To me a backhanded compliment would be “I hate those features on me but they look so good on you” or “I didn’t expect you to get the job — congrats!”. You know?
