Girls, Is she just talking to me to get over Ex?

we have been working together for a few months now, she had broken up with her boyfriend and says she is over him, she calls me her work bestie, she always wants me to be around her and is always looking for me when I’m in work, if I move away from her, she’s asking where I was and why do I walk away, she says she feels comfortable around me but I feel like she’s doing this just to get over her ex, she tells me how he has back in touch with her and wants to meet, I don’t know what to say or do because I don’t want to hurt her feelings, I have noticed that she’s looking at me when I’m coming to start my shift, an example being that when I get out my car, she’s looking outside at the car park, she compliments me about my hair and my personality

She could be genuinely interested or you could be her rebound. There is really no way to tell. My best advice is if you are interested, take it really slow. That should tell you if there is genuine interest.

If she gets tired of the slow pace or changes behaviour, you will know it was more of a rebound. If she continues to act the same over a period of time, I'd say she probably has an interest.

I'd focus on signs she is interested. Everyone acts differently but holding eye contact, listening and good conversation, fidgeting, smiling, laughing, casual touching, etc. If she doesn't lose interest or change behaviour.

I don't know there is any real clear signs to differentiate "I wanna date" vs "I wanna rebound" except that if you take it slow she will lose interest if all you were was a rebound. I'd say go out for a casual lunch or similar and see how she acts.

If she acts the same on a date-like lunch, you may just have something there.

Are you interested in her at all? If so she sounds like she's actually interested not just because of her break up. Was it a long term relationship she was in? If so I'd give it a bit of time to be sure they are truly over. Doesn't mean you can't flirt for now and drop hints that you may be interested, if you are that is.

I think it was only a few months but I think she was hurt by the way he left her without any reason, when she broke up, I was pretty much there from the break up until now so we got closer as she could confide in me

With the relationship not being that long at all, I'd say it's more than likely genuine interest she has.

She is currently on holiday and has kept communication to a minimum, she sent me a message saying, ‘hi how are you doing, just checking in’, she is due back from holiday in few days

Not sure she did call you work bestie. So she could just be very comfortable around you that or kinda likes you. It's hard to tell
