Girlfriend still talks to ex?

I’m going to keep this short and sweet. I’ve been seeing this girl for about 4 months now. When I walked into her life she was having some problems with her ex but she’s since left him and has started seeing me. She still talks to him occasionally on the phone because she wants for him to do better (his life is not in the best spot). But she’ll occasionally say and do things that make me very uncomfortable about it. We’re long distance so he’s closer to her. I really like her so I’ve spoiled her with gifts but now I feel funny about doing it given how close she is to this guy. (Also I think that one of the times I gave her money she might have given it to him, that bothers me because I would want her to spend it on herself and not him).

I don’t know what to do. I would greatly appreciate some advice. Also she has a much longer past with this guy and at one point they lived together and did something’s. I have no experience with that kinda stuff and it bothers me sometimes (I’m a virgin). Thank you for reading this and have a good day.

If she is still in contact with her ex then it is a red flag. No matter what her reasons maybe.
