What an interesting question! I'm going anon for the sake of my privacy, and I know how some people are on here unfortunately.

I'm a black woman. I consider myself feminine: I love wearing lotions and body sprays, cute outfits, and taking care of myself: physically, mentally, and emotionally :)
It irks me how there are so many negative stereotypes towards black women: people assume because I'm black I fall into those categories: that I'm loud, ghetto, aggressive, a golddigger even though I have a good job, my own place, and college degree. Just to name some of the nonsense we deal with.

I laugh when people hear my voice on the phone and immediately assume I'm white because I speak "proper," only to see the look of shock and sometimes disappointment on their faces when they meet me in person! On a sidenote, why does speaking with good grammar mean you are NOT black? Goodness sakes people! Haha. But anyway-

I love seeing black women being feminine, loved, and appreciated by others! We exist and aren't that hard to find!!! There are just so many negative stereotypes surrounding all black women, we all get lumped in the same generalizations and pushed aside.

There's no question overall statistically you will find a tougher environment and a lot of environmental challenges. This result external character maybe different from the internal character a compensation for the environment. So you may find those who are simply waiting for someone they trust to let that shield down. The truth comes out that you can't generalize women are all very adaptable to their circumstances. Some people don't seem very tough but they are and some people seem like they're made of hell and back and they just want to be a leaf in the wind in the bedroom.

I worked for an insurance company in the Los Angeles area for years and worked with a lot of black women. Some of them had that sassy black attitude that is kind of stereotypical. They could be funny as hell, but not my type. But some of them were a lot like the way you describe yourself. Super sweet. I was very good friends with one in particular. She was gorgeous, slender, smart and sweet. We hung out a lot and even went some places together. She was separated from her husband, though, so I never tried to actually date her. I don't date married women.

Yes I'll admit I have this notion of both black and latina women. Very loud, snappy, proud, argumentative and arrogant. The last two more so for latina women. But these are just preconcieved notions born mostly from media exposure. Happy to be proven wrong as I do indeed prefer women after God's heart. The only good kind in my opinion. I've dated a couple black women and they tend to be aggressively independent. It's not really that attractive to me, but I do like how they look, so a feminine, soft and kind, black woman would probably steal my heart. <3

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I'm not interested in the stereotypical black woman that we often see in the media. However, like you are describing, there's definitely exceptions. I like people that can relax, aren't too loud, petite. That has been less common on the black women I have met. Granted, in my neck of the woods, they weren't very common.
