Why does my friend always use the word promise?

Whether it's something she is going to do for herslef or is something she asks me to do. She always includes the word "promise". Is this normal? Why would she always use this word?

My guess as I am not a professional…seeking a mental health professional for an analysis would be what I did.
—That being said, my best guess is that she has failed herself. And/Or, she may be correcting errors she experienced, caused, and does not want to repeat. If I promise then I will. “I promise, Mom.”
—Sometimes…maybe someone will come and see too me keeping my promises. To me, it’s a cry for help
—in each of us there is a little child that…Perhaps, it would be good to determine how this child communicates. Some connect to actions, touch, listening, and there are others Types that I can’t recall at this moment. Best in your endeavors.
