Do you think that everything girls do is for male attention?

I was watching this girl take about being at and all girls school, and she said that she is glad there are no guys there because now she can sweat pants and a t-shirt and no make up. So does this mean that girls only get dressed up for male attention. And if all men. On the planet disappear then girls would stop trying to look nice.

I don't know someone prove me wrong if you think otherwise.

at uni I'm more mindful of my appearance too but not only cause of guys it's cause of the girls cause of me. I wanna look good and feel good in what I wear so that won't let the opportunity to anyone to judge me (that's also anxiety speaking). But at cafes with friends where it's also a mixed setting with people my age I don't mind going less dressed up and without makeup.

But you have to wonder if guys aren't trying to compete for guys attention then no one would feel pressure to try and look good.

I mean not everyone thinks the same way and is carefree. wherever you go people will talk or think about others. they see people and create opinions.

I dont think male attention is the main reason why women dress nice but it could be a big part of it. I know a lot of girls who will dress nice so they can get a good man or so they can impress the man they already have but sometimes wearing something nice feels nice. Some girls will definitely dress up so they can show off to their friends occasionally.

Ok but imagine if you went to an all girls school and you walk in and every one was wearing sweat pants and no makeup. Would you feel the need to stand out and where make up, and if you did would you feel ostracized because your doing something no one else is doing.

Personally, I wouldn't care as much but I'd still try a little. I know a lot of girls who would dress up just for compliments or to look better than their friends. I guess it depends on the girl but I do agree that most would care less.

I just try to look as aesthetically pleasing and as put together as I can because i feel more confident and it says a lot about who I am. When I’m messy I feel sad and anxious because I don’t feel good and I am probably being judged and I am probably an eye sore

But image if you went somewhere, where girls aren't try to look good for anyone, then you would feel any anxiety or pressure either because everyone is thinking the same way.

Believe it or not girls try to look good for themselves when they go out in public because it gives them confidence. It’s not specifically to impress guys, it’s just to feel confident in her own skin when she is dealing with other human beings

But she does that because other women are wearing makeup, so if every girls stop wearing makeup why would a girl wear makeup? She would be the odd one out and look foolish, so now she would feel the opposite of confidence. So that's proves that girls don't wear makeup for themselves.
