Girlfriend called me needy?

my girlfriend of 3 months called me needy today and it really set me off. I'm not sure why because I call her and text her just as often as she calls and texts me. I'm not aware of anything I do that could be interpreted as needy behavior. it's almost infuriating because I consider myself to be a very independent guy and if there's one image I do my best to avoid, it's looking like I need a girl's attention in any way.

i have yet to meet a girl who I wouldn't break up with so fast it would make her head spin given the right circumstance. I'm completely happy single and have always been good with attracting girls.

i do love my girlfriend and I give her the attention she deserves. I think she's confusing my love for neediness. now I'm thinking I should ignore her sometimes and almost completely stop texting and calling her. what do girls consider "needy" behavior from guys? what should I do?

She may be wanting a bit more of a chase. The fact that you text her and show appreciation may be too easy, too simple, ya know?

I'm not saying that it's okay for her to act like this but it might be the reason.

Or you could be doing things that you may consider even to what she does but she sees as more. Maybe it's not that you text her just as often but you text her when she's at work, or out with friends. Or you text her for no reason at all and it bugs her?

Maybe you offer to do too much for her (I know I hate being treated like a princess all the time, yes if you're going to the kitchen to get something then if you could grab me some water as well then that would be nice. But sometimes it's too much when my boyfriend goes out of his way to do things for me all the time. It makes me feel uncomfortable).

However the only way you'll know is if you talk to her. We can't tell you anything. We can give you stipulations and ideas but none of them are any where near an intelligent guess, we don't know any of the story. There are so many little things (more than what I've mentioned) that you have to tell us to get a decent answer.

Did you see how complete opposite ends of the spectrum my two suggestions were?

So ask her, just sit down and talk like the grown adults you are.

It doesn't matter how you've acted with other girls, you might like this girl more. Guys can be very needy, more so than girls a lot of the time! It can have to do with personal space, e.g, hug, don't squeeze, and texting too much, so don't text at all see how she reacts.

I think you should do the last paragraph as a test. Try to get her to want you again.

Well first off, she got the upper hand by you letting the comment get to you which is pretty difficult to recover from without tact. I'm not saying either party needs to have the upper hand but its human nature to try and get it. If the conversation between comes about this in the near future I would laugh it off and say something along the lines, " I guess you mistook me enjoying talking to you and WANTING to talk and be with you as being needy, but I am not needy at all, I just love you. I can hold my own in the world because I know in the end all that you have is yourself to be happy, and I am completely happy with myself" and laugh because honestly you say your not needy and you arent, don't let it get to you..she can think whatever she wants. I'm pretty independent and to be so with my ex-girlfriend when I was with people or at work and didn't want to be bothered with my phone id text her and say" hey, babe I'm gonna be *insert manly yet sensitive activity here* for a while so ill text you later".
