+1 yits very difficult to see your own privilege. Men many times cannot see their privilege either. For instance as a man so many construction and factory jobs are open to me that weaker women couldn’t do. I make very good money because of this now. We do have a few women in our mill but their the type that will whoop your ass if you step out of line.
I find trying to explain to women why they have it easier overall as difficult as teaching a whole crowd there are only 2 genders… This isn’t an insult it’s an actual comparison. When ever you try and explain how things look from your perspective many times they just say “no your wrong” and that’s their argument.
Humans chase things that help them and run from things that hurt them. We will always push to improve our lives even if it hurts others. For example it wasn’t until Adele had to pay alimony that women got issues with it. Never have you heard of women fighting for their right to join the draft to vote. But last year when it was being discussed adding women to selective service suddenly women started fighting to remove the draft… we cannot hold this against them because I mean none of us are out there fighting every single injustice out there but that’s the point. We don’t notice issues until they effect us THEN we’ll act. If we don’t notice them then we won’t react.
So let’s say they do react… men and women all want the same thing. They want someone to fucking show they matter and to value them. They want intimacy… to be close to someone. For men that have almost no camaraderie or anyone to care if they suffer or are recognized a moment of physical intimacy means a great deal. For women physical intimacy comes as easy as “hey guys im horny”… then your laid. The value of sex is different between the genders ironically while both sides are chasing the exact same thing.
Let’s look at something men say is unfair. Child support and alimony. There’s a fair argument that alimony needs to be revisited. If the wife takes care of the home your paying for her time but what if your 50/50… you still have to pay if you earn more… But child supports so evil towards men! The government wants their god damn cut and they will pursue it aggressively. Something men don’t consider is… so you can’t pay your bills while paying child support? She’s the one actually supporting the child. Daycare, school, sick days, detention, summer break… these effect her life heavily and her work schedule. Can’t leave a sick 4 yr old home alone. Can’t put them in daycare or school anymore either after covid.
The point is every good argument has its counter argument showing… the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.30 Reply

+1 yThey know they have it easier and don't want to admit it
They can literally accuse men of sexual harassment and put the poor men in jail

+1 yNo that is bullshit woman have it harder especially if their single parents. Typically they earn less money than men even for the same job. Single or married the care of the children is mostly the mother's, plus they have the house to care for women have a lot of responsibility these day. I believe they work equally as hard.

Neither has it 'easy.' Women and men both have it easier than each other in some ways and harder in others. I want to know when both genders will stop trying to make it seem like they've got it the worst, and respect that we all have our different areas of difficulty and different doors that open easiest for us.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yThat's a good point. I suppose the girls are used to living their life with their conditions. It's normal to start perceiving your average days as "standard" and having higher expectations out of it.

It's not like men wake up one day and decide "Ohhh wow! I feel so empowered! that's it. Starting today I'm going to join the top 20% of men, that the ladies are after". It has never worked like that.
In fact you'll encounter more a much higher number of trans-girls than trans-men. Some men realize this and get on surgeries and hormone replacement therapy and turn into women and continue their life as such.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 ySomething I've always hated and resented about this is that if a guy or a human male has the mindset or mentality thinking men have the short end of the stick in dating or when it comes to attracting someone, that women have it easier or just better than men do, he gets labeled as being a whiner or being a victim or having a victim mentality, being labeled a baby, he won't really get any sympathy from anyone, he will often be told to just pull himself up by the bootstraps, or to grow a pair or man up.
Overall men typically have a much harder time getting sympathy and emotional support if they're going through turmoil or rough or difficult times in their life or if they think something is unfair and cruel.
However women normally get more sympathy than men do if they are going through turmoil or rough or difficult times or if they complain or are upset about the current state of affairs.
I've always been a fan of the belief there are more male wizards in the world than female wizards

u +1 yYou know how difficult YOUR life is, but you don't how difficult life is for any other guy; all you know is the stories they tell. And you don't how difficult life is for any girl; all you know is the stories they tell. So how can you make a valid comparison that isn't biased, and. . . why does it matter?

+1 yWhy do people have to make it a competition about who has it easier or worse? I mean, who gives a shit except puss cake whiners who desperately seek excuses for their failures.

We need more of this. No one will have it better when we try to argue who has the hardest life. On the other hand if (in my experience guys, for guys probably women) say you have it soo easy, what can I do except telling them about our problems in hope to make them realize. Telling people how hard some things are shouldn't be a competition but a way of 'maybe you can help me'. This should go both ways. But I won't help someone who is telling me how easy I have it and that I should stop complaining.
This is the age old. Grass is greener on the otherside.
Men have no clue what women deal with so they go they have it so easy.
Women have no clue what men deal with so they go they have it so easy.
But truth is both have lots of struggles and pressures. But in very different ways.
So what needs to be done is people need to grow up and stop making it a who got it harder competition, and take time to respect and learn more about each other.

Yes but this is also just part of it.
Because of the things that are harder and easier preferences and values are different.
For example. Women can get laid much easier so they tend to not value sex as much while men whom have a harder time value it more. Or for women have more access to shelters because it’s women that are traditionally abused and need to be relocated.
+1 yYou're saying that because you haven't experienced being a woman living in a patriarchy. Look, nobody said life would be easy, but women don't "have it easy" just for being a woman

+1 yNo one has it easy! We all suffer in life. Don’t fall into that victim trap of woe is me I have it so much harder than this other group of people. It will only lead to more misery and bitterness. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

+1 yBecause either they're focusing on the areas where men do have it easier than they do (the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence), or they're looking at the men for whom pretty much EVERYTHING is easier.

+1 yNo gender has it “easier” than the other. There are blatant pros to being a guy and blatant pros to being a girl. There are also blatant cons to both and then what about the transgender community?
10 ReplyNobody does. My answer got lost, so I’ll just leave it as this.
Nobody does. 😐👐
