What was this girls friend trying to do?

Just a back story quickly. I'am a mechanic and I like this girl at a store. Her co-worker spent 45 minutes talking to me, told me personal information about her and she has a boyfriend, but sounds like her boyfriend is not treating her good. This girl always talks to me first and she wants me to look at her car. Well today her co-worker was trying to tell me how she is going to make time for me and even switch her shift to do so. Why is her co-worker saying and doing this? I'am very confused. (the girl I like I didn't interact with her for two days). i'am sitting here wondering why isn't the girl I like telling me this stuff since I see her almost everyday for the past 3 weeks now.

My guess is either A the coworker is the relayer of info from the girl you like and the girl you like is really shy to talk to you face to face.

Or B - The coworker likes you in secret but is still being the relayer of information.

So this week she was busy with customers so she looked at said hello and that's it. Yesterday I told her friend I would talk to her today (I couldn't) but when I seen her today, her hair was done up and all that stuff. So in terms of her being shy, she is but only when her co-worker/friend is around, if it's us two she loves talking to me, she starts 90% of the convos. She turns awkward when her co worker comes into the scene really. Her co worker is married by the way.
