Why does she keep changing her mind?

i give notice that i was quitting my boss asked me to stay till the end of march to help her out i agreed to be nice,

i texted her yesterday to asked her when my last day was as she did not give me a date before.

she changed her mind she asked if i could give her though April me staying till then.

i lied & said to be honest i have a offers. thats the only reason why i asked when my last day is i have no job offers.

she found my replacement a few weeks ago she is training him.

why is she changing her mind? i feel like she is expecting too much after i was nice & agreed to stay till the end of march to help her out.

there are no workers at my job.

its a seasonal job people get hired a few months before the summer then they get laid off before tthe summer ends.

its only me the store manager & the replacement kid she hired to take over my job.

but i dont work with them as the manager gives herself off & kid off on the only two days i work

I think it's like poker. She pretends she is not desperate for employees at her building and you pretend you are not desperate to be rehired at that job. If they kept you that long, they probably know you're hard to replace and the odds they could find a replacement that is better then you is low. She probably hired the new guy as a bluff to trick you into thinking she did not care if you left.

She’s taking advantage. If you work somewhere that is low staffed or your coworkers are not great, maybe lazy, call out often or whatever then of course she wants to keep the reliable employee that you are. You did her a huge favor by agreeing to stay through March, don’t let her mess up good opportunities for you or keep you at that place where you don’t thrive and/or aren’t happy.

Per your update, that’s what I figured. Usually when they push for you to stay it’s because they need the help. Not your problem though!

She doesn't want you to leave, but since you clearly stated your intent to leave, she has to cover her bases and make sure she has a replacement. That's business.

They don't care, it comes easy for them especially if they are attractive. They only begin to care when it dries up around the age of 28+.
