There is a girl and i like her and she said she does too. I got to know that she has a boyfriend (she never mentioned that) and i asked her about it. She told me that she does but that she also likes me.

It's weird. Sounds like she wants to keep her options open, if one fails or doesn't suit her, she goes with someone else. She's probably a flirt and is dating someone at the same time. I would say to move on, doesn't sound like she doesn't want anything serious at the moment, or is cheating with her boyfriend.
Why do people do this?
Because they aren't serious about being in a relationship or are bored with their current one.
