I’d say they are a girl. Legally, they are a minor, and their brains are still developing. I can assure you that I have an entirely different attitude, including self-assurance and true maturity, between now and when I was 16-17. If you look into developmental psychology, there’s a paradigm theory about different life stages and what their goals are. For adolescents, a lot of their focus is on their identity. Adolescent thinking and young adult thinking definitely change in priorities and worries.
