Why did my baby mama go crazy over me giving our son a haircut?

Ok, so this past weekend, I was going to give our son a haircut on my visitation. According to our court order, I don't have to ask permission to do this but I am trying to be diplomatic and run stuff by her in an attempt to not start a fight. I text her I want to do it, she say ok but to not cut it too short. I get the haircut done and text her a picture and then she says "omg he looks so handsome" When I drop him off, she makes another comment saying he looks good. As I'm leaving, I get a text, "why did you cut it so short" followed by "you are forbidden to cut his hair anymore, I will handle this" So why the random change up? Is she just looking to fight?
