Why some people fake liking someone?

I mean some girls fake friendships with some girls or smile in your face and talk bad about you behind your back... What is the purpose of those actions? Why can't people just be genuine?

For various reasons: from using others to get ahead in life or get something/someone they want (eg: a job, relationship, connections), to just being spiteful- aka, the mean girls of high school that were supposedly best friends, yet would stab each other in the back if it meant getting ahead.

This is why I have such a small friend circle and always have- I'm wary to trust others. Because most (NOT ALL) people are terrible at friendships. They expect you to jump at the hat to help them, yet when you need them? They are no where to be found.

Those girls tend to be very competitive. And women on average tend to be more passive aggressive in their ways of battle. Girls like that recognize the value of keeping the peace while around you to avoid conflict. But they still don't like you probably due to female intersex competition reasons. I say this since they're talking badly behind your back. Women usually do this to other women they view as a threat. And if you're more popular, more attractive than they are, receive benefits they want, you'll be a more likely target of passive aggression & gossip.

Also I'm going based on what I've heard from the scientific studies. So feel free anyone to disagree with me or add anything.

Simple human behaviour. Unfortunately this world is full of humans but so little of them have proper morals and humanity in them. So little that you can basically call good people a different species. For majority of people what you asked about is basically a must do thing. I'll never understand it nor would i want too. Every generation is more degenerative and more toxic. Ofc not all individuals are like that. Hat down and respect to those are aren't ''normal'' in that way

I had a girl turn females I befriended on this site against me with lies and many of them blocked me. A jobless and obese female ex lawyer has been spreading lies about me to people on this site because her boyfriend hates me and pretends to be in love with me in the hopes his jobless ex lawyer girlfriend will harass me and possibly assault or hurt or even kill me out of jealousy. That way if something happens to me, she goes to jail instead of him because he can just lie and say he’s in love with me. I told her he is pretending to love me to get her to kill me but she doesn’t believe me and continues to harass me for 8-14 hours a day.

Because it makes them feel special about themselves. It's sort of like a Pity in their mind, they like you out of pity. The pathetic thing is as they are the pitiful ones.

Years ago I had one guy did this to me because I happen to be a little overweight, but otherwise I had an outstanding friendly and down to earth personality something that is appealed to many people.

Well I lost that weight and nowadays I turn heads. And it was funny last year I ran into him with his wife, he couldn't keep his eyes off me and she was a nastiest b**** was a very pretentious phony attitude so much that dog s*** looks better

This is literally majority of women lol. How unfortunate. I only have like 2 close girl friends for this reason. Every single woman I try to befriend with will eventually show me some sort of rivalry vibe which is something I am not into. I am married and not interested to compete for unwanted attention from the opposite gender.

Because they are two-faced. I don't understand why people do this. It makes zero sense to me. Honestly I would respect a person more for being honest and telling me how they feel rather than going behind my back saying a bunch of bullshit that that isn't true. I can't stand that shit. I stay away from people like that.

Sounds like my friend's wife. She does that with everybody, especially the other neighborhood women. I was always over there fixing stuff at their house for free because I've known my friend for over 30 years, and she would talk shit about me when I wasn't there. I don't fix anything for her anymore but will still help my friend.
