21m My girlfriend can't sleep without me what do I do? I'm gonna lose my mind help?

She has refused to sleep without me since the day we met at first I loved it, now I'm absolutely tired of it and I can't do it anymore I have shit to do, had to quit a job traveling round country every 3 weeks because of this. Can't do anything I need/want to, never been a day person, always work 3rd shift, she always picks opening, my sleep is all out of wack and it's affecting my mood and I hate being so irritable but this lack of sleep, because I have to basically babysit if killing me.

She refuses to take sleeping medication because of the irrational fear of not waking up, and complains about insomnia aswell. I just don't understand how she slept when I was traveling/she was at home, she now lives with me so it's hard for me to do anything past 8pm

She'll allow her mood to be ruined all day/week if I don't lay my ass down and sleep.

You two don't sound compatible. She's unreasonable and mentally unwell, and she needs to fix that.

You need what you need, and she can't be the only one requesting compromise - you need her to meet you in the middle, if possible.

She needs psychological and medical help. You aren't her doctor, her parent, or her caregiver. You're supposed to be a partner in an equal relationship.

What you have right now is a unilateral co-dependent who is sucking your life dry.

You deserve better. At least you deserve someone capable of helping themselves and not making you some sort of emotional support crutch/person.

I love my partner lying with me till I fall asleep. But we do a compromise where he'll sit with me for five minutes (generally also stroking my back), and when that time is up he can get up and leave and I don't get pissy for it.
She doesn't sound like she'd compromise and she doesn't sound like she'll ever let you do what you want to.
