We had received our grades in class and compared them. Can you interpret my ex-girlfriend's reaction?

After history class my ex-girlfriend, sitting in front of me, showed me her semester grade. I was not happy with my own grade. She asked what my grade was, and I told her, with shame. It was one grade lower than hers. She then smiled/smirked, and then turned back around. Why did she have that reaction?

It sounds like your ex was being kinda smug or competitive when she saw you had a lower grade than her. Girls can be petty sometimes.

A few possible reasons for her reaction:

- She felt happy or proud that she did better than you, like it proved she was smarter. Girls' egos get big about school stuff.

- Maybe she still cares a bit whether she beats you, even though you broke up. Past relationships often have leftover awkwardness.

- Could be she wanted to show off in front of you and rub it in a little. Some girls get satisfied putting an ex guy down.

- Or she might have just found it mildly amusing that the tables turned grade-wise this time. Not everything's super deep ya know?

Hard to say for sure what she was thinking. Girls can be tricky to read. If it were me, I'd try not to let it get to me too much. Water under the bridge ya know? And who cares what grade she got - you're not dating anymore! Better to just focus on your own thing.
