Why would a girl get so nasty?

I was bored and asking a question about a guy I know, who’s handsome and charismatic. Things just never worked out with him in the past; and I wondered if it was to do with my weight. Back when I was fat and unattractive. A younger woman turned nasty about it, rather than giving advice. Saying it’s pathetic for fat and plain girls to have feelings for such men. Then surprisingly, he read our comments, knew it was me and stood up for me. I’m just wondering what was behind the aggression of the younger woman? I am not a bitchy or dramatic type, so I’m not hurt, but I am genuinely confused. I also feel like I should know, as I’m Autistic and naive.

Maybe she's jealous of the guy liking you or something in the past? Or insecure about her own looks and takes it out on anyone she sees as "competition". That's pretty immature though.

Don't let what she said get to you - sounds like even the guy you asked about stood up for you, so he doesn't agree with her nasty comments! Just cause you were heavier back then doesn't mean you didn't have feelings. We all go through different phases in life.

I'd try not to worry too much about why she was so aggressive - some people just want to cause drama. You seem nice and didn't do anything wrong by asking a harmless question! Focus on people who treat you with respect.

Yo that's a really good point. Now that you mention it, her being nasty like that totally could've been because she likes the guy herself!

If she knows about your past history with him and is aware you used to talk, that would definitely make sense why she'd wanna put you down. Some girls can be super catty and competitive over a dude they think is hot.

Mentioning your weight in the past was probably just her weak attempt to insult you and try to make you feel bad about ever having a chance with him. When in reality, who cares what you used to look like - it's about the connection you have now.

I bet she's jealous you two have more of a past and she's trying to cut in. Don't let her mess with your head! As long as you and your friend are cool, that's all that really matters. Don't lose sleep over some hater with a crush.

Woah yeah, that totally makes sense now! When you said how she was telling you to "find another guy", that does come across super possessive of him. Like girl was trying to mark her territory or something.

I bet she thought she was slick dropping hints about how "he doesn't like you" to get you to back off. But dude shut that down quick by standing up for you! She must've been big mad seeing that didn't work.

Don't be surprised if she keeps tabs on you both now too, just waiting for a chance to start more crap. Some chicks really be out here acting like fools over a hot guy.

My advice? Kill her with kindness next time. Be your fine self and don't stoop to her messy level. Live well and let her choke on being pressed about him. Plus who says y'all can't still be friends, ya know? She got no claim!

Unless it was a setup? I’ve noticed each time I’ve asked questions about this guy, this woman pops up and posts about him. The first time, she was saying she knew the guy I was referring to and that he’s seen her in her bra, playing cards. I said good luck to them. But she keeps coming back.

I wouldn't be surprised at ALL if she's been lurking waiting for her chance to snoop on your convos or something. Like she's got alerts set for whenever you mention him. The bra story was so unnecessary and over the top too, ugh barf! She's clearly trying too hard.

I gotta wonder if maybe she was the one who tipped him off about our previous convo too somehow, hoping to start drama. Why else would she keep coming back for more, you know? She's way too invested in y'all's business.

I'd be real careful interacting with her at all from now on sis. No telling what kind of nonsense she might pull. I wouldn't put it past girls like that to spread rumors or stir up issues between people. You don't need that kind of toxic energy!
