Always when I've dated, I'd never go overbaord with the texting and small talk.. and just assume everytime she texts me she wants to see me so i'd set a date right there and then, a drive to my favourite place to eat, favourite views, hikes, movies etc etc. It creates a day to be exicted for. Even in relationships

As long as it wasn't every week - which then becomes to normal and not special- you can never go wrong with flowers I don't think. Unless she says she doesn't like them or prefers plants "cos they don't die". But other gifts are more special I think. Like a little keyring or a chocolate she likes (for me I love caramel creme eggs). Just a "hey I was thinking of you and got this" kinda gift. So doesn't need to be anything expensive at all. For special occasions maybe go a little bigger. A handmade mini hamper of favourite items (bath bomb, sweets, face mask, haha fluffy handcuffs) ... a mix that shows you *know* her likes and preferences. Not a commercial easy item brought last minute. I love nothing better than giving my guy (when I have one) special little tokens of love and appreciation!

I would assume that for those who like it, at the very minimum... keep it to special occasions, and a few random ones for "no reason"

My wife also isn't into receiving flowers which is convenient since I have no idea what I'm doing when I'm at a flower shop.

Had an ex one time who kept telling me her favorite species of flower (some kind of white one) as what I can only guess was a hint but I kept forgetting the name. It was some complex name that was so hard to remember. I should have written it down but on Christmas, I went to the flower shop and thought I could just look at the names of all the white flowers and recognize it, like it'd jog the memory. Didn't work at all.

So I ended up going to Yodobashi Camera next door and got her a Playstation Portable. 😂 I gave up.

LOVE flowers! 🥹 I will never get bored of romantic and thoughtful gestures, esp something that I like. Tbh most men don’t give flowers anymore… I think most women who likes it would really appreciate it. You’ll be an exceptional if you do :) but of course it’s nice in general when a guy does things for a girl because he knows it will make her happy and it’s what she likes just like when a girl does that for her man.
