Trending & News 98% time I defuse by engaging the human being and talking. worked 100% of time so far.
2%, I leave... often because they are not in their right mind by my view... drugs/alcohol.
humans are complex... but the aren't "that complex" to understand
a fraction of the cases would be all police because they are dangerous. thankfully, have not encountered that.
Again... people just want to be loved, understood, heard... they want what they want. They functioning out of decades of trauma often starting from prior generations passed down genetically, to when they are born, to as they develop int his world. Making even a minor step towards them in compassion and understanding is a giant leap to addressing whatever problem currently exists.
I prefer not to have to delay my plans to stick around for the cops to come out and fill out the forms, so I'll briefly try to convince them to go down a different path. Failing that... better me than the little old lady around the corner. Let's dance.

Depends on the confrontation and the stranger. If it is silly stuff like they bump into me and get riled up try and defuse the situation. If that doesn't work and they get physical sure we can get physical how many bones you want unbroken? If it is a trans woman or trans man trying to go into the bathroom my children or wife are in they will hear "hey!" Followed by their face hitting a wall. No perverts around my children. If it is an actively hostile individual well let's say I hope they have made peace with whatever they believe in
It depends on the situation, but mostly likely defuse it or walk away if they're too angry to listen. For it to get physical is last thing I want to deal with, since anything can happen.
Just watching head injuries in street fights make me cringe like hell.
if I am alone... first of all, assess the situation and possible outcome to the best of my ability and the circumstance, defuse by talking and walking away or keep moving, yes I'm leaving I got shit to do... if they don't stop, well... they can be stopped, there's a few ways to do that safely
if I'm with someone I care for... don't even start shit, because there's even more ways to get knocked out and offline and I know more of those than I should, lol
In the past people would be eager to try do defuse the situation but these days with poor laws and increase of crime rates, most people just walk away if they can. That includes me too.
What is my involvement in the confrontation and how are they acting?
If I'm directly engaged in it, I would try to defuse the situation and if that's not possible try to walk away. If they won't let me walk away, then I wouldn't have any other choice than to get physical since the police wouldn't be able to arrive in time if they are being violent.
Street fights always end badly, it's a lose lose situation, so get the hell out
Depends. I'll either get confrontational and yell, I'll start a fight or if they have a weapon, I'll shoot them.
Hand them my money, and get the hell out of there
Take him down any way I can and make sure he stays down.
I'm likely to just walk away. I can't be bothered dealing with jerks.
Simples...
It would depend. Some people are unhinged and some people just need to vent. I'm 6'5" and so I think that helps discourage people from confronting me with hostility.
I call police
I’d never walk away as if it’s not my problem. Whatever happens in front of my eyes - becomes my problem.
@LaFemmeFatale_1 I once saw a guy get screamed at and almost beaten (like he got slapped) with some guys standing around him. I walked past but kept an observing eye on it and with my phone out ready to call the police.
The people harassing him drove off in a car shortly after I passed them, so I turned around immediately and checked up on he guy and how he was doing and what had happend. Apparently he was in town to see a girl and the guy "attacking" him was the girls ex who had found out about it. The ex broke the guys phone and I helped him call the police to report it and they arrived and took my witness statement too but I never heard from the police.
I had one friend who got jumped by two guys, completely unprovoked, and a guy stepped in and told them to stop. They switched their focus to him instead and he got beaten really bad and ended up in the hospital. So I had this in mind when I walked past and observed.
