With woman raving and leaving there boyfriends over it on release I decided to check the movie out I thought it’s be a fun time. It’s started off fun with a few red flags but oh boy I quickly realized this was gonna be one of THOSE types of movies. That woman rule the world men are trash type of movies I font get it why is it to uplift woman in modern times especially in Tv and media bashing men seems to be the only way woman know how to do so. Men aren’t perfect the world isn’t perfect there’s inequality everywhere. But like they are doing exactly what men have done in the past in to an extent in modern times. Lines in the movie like “it’s anxiety it’s sucks dealing with it at this age especially kids but they don’t take it out on the father “ is that not crazy? Fathers don’t deal with anxiety or hardships with there kids? He’ll even lines like Barbie set back the feminist movement 50 years? Bro what are we actually talking about. A doll didn’t set back the feminist movement 50 years if you let a toy set back your movement 50 years that sounds like a you problem. I know I’m not crazy stuff like this being put in movies that are also meant to appeal to kids are destroying the minds of the next generation cause that’s nuts.

No. For one thing, I'm not the target audience and wasn't interested. It looked like feminist propaganda. Michael Knowles made a "conservative" defense of the film, to which I say cool story, bro. I'll admit, his argument made some sense, but not enough to make me give up two hours of my time to watch it.

It’s no more social commentary than any other comedy. It was meant to be funny escapism and I think it was exactly that.

It was definitely an interesting movie it’s kinda sad cause I’m a guy yeah but even I remember how big Barbie was when I was a kid all my cousins that were girls had one and girls that were friends definitely had some growing up and even toy commercials he’ll even my niece likes Barbie she’s still really big with little girls even in modern times so to see how this could’ve been a really fun movie for kids and adults and have it turned into this men vs woman nonsense is sad

Yea it’s pretty bad there’s literally a line in the movie where a female character in a big emotional impactful moments says that it’s impossible to be a woman 😭 I can’t tell if we are trying to uplift woman or tear them down what’s worse is the fact that millions of women everywhere thought this movie was the best thing since sliced bread when it came out highly disappointing.

It is a fun movie but did not handle highlighting feminism in a productive manner. Equality doesn’t mean putting down one gender to uplift another.

Well yeah they do get to that in the end.

At the start the Barbie world was a matriarchal society centered around the Barbies and the Kens were an afterthought with no place.

Ken then made Barbieworld into a patriarchy ruled by the Kens. This stripped the Barbies of their identites.

At the end they decide to make Barbie world more inclusive for all.

Honestly I kinda figured that’s were the movie was going it’s a pretty easy read but the issue is all the nonsensical unrealistic portrayal of both sides in the beginning just becomes a serious turn off to watch for anyone who isn’t a psycho feminist ima pretty open minded dude so I didn’t mind watching a more girly film as long as it’s gonna be a good time. And all that stuff really just left a bad taste in my mouth I don’t even finish the movie cause of it.
