Is it normal not to mention prom to your father?

My divorced boyfriend I asked if his daughter was going to her prom. He said he had no idea. I personally knew her prom is in 4 days by looking online.

Is thos a disconnected dad? Daughter has to be resentful not talking about her prom to her father.

Although most do it to get attention.

Social event for whom? Because any teen can go to party when they want it's not hard and if you can't then you don't want to be at prom anyway as I imagine that's got your bullies there.

We had a school end of term thing in our last year sorta prom I guess but pretty much everyone there was just waiting for the real party the afterparty at someone house lol.
And I can tell you the only couple of people having fun at this was the ones who had a bit to sniff if ya know what I mean.
