Girl checking for reaction?

In general I have always noticed this girl staring at me. She does it a lot when she is talking to other dudes. I will be looking somewhere else and will turn to face her and she will already looking be at me, but in a way where it seems like she lost her train of thought and was zoning out. All this while the dude is talking. I wonder if she is actually "admiring me" or if she is only trying to make me jealous. Today I was standing across the entire room from her and a guy walked past her and wanted to give her a fist bump. As soon as she fist bumped him her eyes darted to me. Im sure she was checking to see if I saw the interaction. Which tells me that on some level she cares about my opinion of her. Just wanted to get my thoughts down with this post and curious if any else has experinced stuff like this?

There are two possibilities that I could see being true. Let me start with one you haven't thought of. You know how she is looking at you? Well that could be because you are staring at her. How else would you know that she is looking at you if you aren't doing the same and staring at her? Bet you hadn't thought about that. Maybe she is thinking "why is this guy staring at me?" much like you are asking the same thing. Now it also could be because of exactly what you suspect. She is trying to see if there is a reaction out of you when she talks to other guys. This would be a way for her to tell if you have any interest or at least perceived interest. Its a kinda passive way to gage someone's interest. Not a great idea in my opinion.
