Why are girls more appreciative of random acts of kindness from guys?

I went into a coffee shop as we had a bike meet for a ride and there was a girl (nice looking) behind me waiting in line and not tied to her phone probably around 20-22 years old. We struck small talk but nothing big more or less about how the drive through would be faster than waiting in line that kind of stuff. It was my turn to get served and I told the guy what I wanted then I said to her looking at her "What are you having" she was a little taken back like no one has done anything like this for her. So I said also she's going to have a (drink that she wanted) it's on me. It was not much I mean from my perspective when you make $4600.00 take home a week what's 5 bucks for 2 drinks... She was very grateful and said thank you probably about 3 times. I told her "The world is full of hate and you can change that by helping those who least expect it regardless of where they come from" then from there we parted ways... I thought nothing of it but I knew I made her day a little more enjoyable. I did not do this to get to know her or to get her name I did not ask anything of the sorts just simply buying her a drink made her smile and that's all I wanted to do. A smile.

One thing I realize is that the world needs a little more kindness and if it means through random acts in helping a disabled person walking. Like the other day I was in a Costco parking lot and there was an old man who could barley walk heading towards the shopping carts because I think he uses them to help him hold on to something. I told him to sit tight so I walked over grabbed a good functional cart and brought it to him and asked if he needed help getting to the store. He said he was good and thanked me for his help and he went off shopping.

Yet with the amount of people around no one batted a finger or said or did anything until I saw his troubles and I could see it on his face. Walking for him was not an easy task for some kind of medical condition or anything...

Yes doing good for others is very beneficial and enjoyable for the giver as much as the receiver. Many people forget this and in Western societies we are very individualistic. Trying to get ahead and better only ourselves. So we forget that kindness is a beautiful trait. In our evolution we were meant to live in small tribes or villages and sharing and helping eachother was an important means of survival so the brain rewards us with feel good hormones.

The girl... well you certainly made her day. Not with the money you spent (I'm sure she could pay herself) but the fact that you did it without expecting anything creepy or untoward in return!

It's very nice. And for each person you do something nice for, maybe they will let their own walls down and feel inclined to do something nice for someone else.

I work in a care home so I'm often doing something special for the elderly people there. Can be so small like bringing them their favourite sweets. Or popping to post office for them as they can't. We all could learn a lot about empathy and kindness working with the elderly, disabled or dying.

I don't know but I guess I can relate to the girl you talked about. I don't expect anything I try to do everything myself so when others are nice it makes my day for sure. But I just have trouble believing others are nice just because so I try to accept it as is and say thanks. I don't mind helping others in return because it's a good feeling when you help others.
