Why do women wear super revealing clothing equal only to undergarments in public?

When I started high school in 1970, girls were doing the same thing - challenging school dress standards by refusing to wear bras and stockings beneath their clothes.

Swimwear evolved from full clothing to bikinis in half a century. Since then, bikinis have become smaller and smaller.

- To be rebellious.

- To annoy prudes.

- To feel comfortable.

- To look pretty.

- To keep up with fashion trends.

- To attract attention.

All that sounds reasonable to me.

Women today simply have more fashion choices. They can wear trousers and sweaters. They can be conservative and wear flowing skirts or sun dresses. They can wear body-hugging clothes. They can show leg and even butt cheeks. They can wear bras with low-cut blouses to display cleavage. They can go braless under T-shirts or tight crop-tops.

Damn, if we tried wearing any of that stuff in high school, we got sent home to change clothes. Also, girls who did dress like that were looked down on as Ho's. Some also had to drop out of school because they got pregnant.

@Daniela1982. This was in 1970-71. These girls weren't ho's. They didn't dress like sluts either. They were standing up for women's lib and protesting sexist fashion standards.

They were the liberals of those days. Pro-civil rights, pro-women's rights, pro-environment, anti-war, ... I still have those kind of liberal values myself. But I sure reject what liberalism has become.

The school started out by sending some of the offenders home and even giving short suspensions. But it eventually gave up and relaxed the rules. I assume that the girls' parents defended them.

I work hard to keep myself trim and fit, and I'm proud of that. I love my miniskirts, short dresses and high heels, and I don't wear a bra very often. I guess if anyone has issues with how I dress, I guess that's their problem, but I've never had any complaints.
