What Girls & Guys Said

Man I totally get what you're saying. It's always harder to be yourself around someone you really like. Here are a few things that might help:
- Remember she's just a person too. Don't put her on a pedestal. Easier said than done, I know, but if you can see her as a normal cool girl instead of "the one" it might relax you.
- Start with small talk at first to feel more comfortable. Comment on her outfit, ask how her day is going - lighter stuff before diving into big convos.
- Be aware of any physical tension or nervous habits you have and make an effort to relax your body. Loose arm swings instead of crossed arms, etc.
- Keep things positive. Don't overthink what you're "supposed" to say. Change subjects quickly if you feel yourself getting jammed up.
- Compliment her genuinely instead of trying to lay on the charm super heavy. Girls can see right through that.
- Have an activity in mind if you ask her to hang, like getting food or going to the gym. Takes pressure off just sitting awkwardly.
Long story short, ease into it more naturally instead of putting too much importance on each interaction. You got this bro! With practice it'll get smoother.
It’s a “deer in the headlights” sort of reaction to the girl you like. It’s a little difficult to get over at first, but if you allow a simple gesture to unfold between you rather than to count on your usual charming words it might break the ice and you’ll find it easier to chat with her.
