It's never a waste to do what you want to do. You could look at it from the other side. If you have a particular skill or talent, does that mean you should do something you don't want to? That seems far worse than "wasting" a talent. That's wasting a life.
When I grew up, the woman next door had a PhD. She was a housewife until the kids were old enough to take care of themselves during the day. I don't think she would consider it a waste. She got a PhD when she wanted to, then was a house wife when she wanted to. Then when the kids were older, she was a teacher when she wanted to.
More women need to stay home and raise their children instead of strangers that have wacked out standards. L
Yes it should be women and not men. Women have a more nurturing aspect about them.
No it's not sexist or misogynistic either. So save those bullshit cookie cutter retort. You've worn that out.
Women used to set the standards in the home and made sure the kids were raised with the same standards and beliefs. Now days women are more interested in their careers than their own kids. It's one of the biggest downfalls in every society.
People choose to be stay at home mothers because it benefits their situation, not because they want to be a waste of space. And people that have the mentality that stay at home moms are wasting their life lack intelligence and only see things from their own shallow perspective.
Of course not. Not only does that increase her happiness but it allow her to home school her children and perhaps several other children.

I think so, not sure why most women don't pursue their dreams once the kids go to kindergarten and are away four or five days a week. I mean if being a mother is what they dream of then fine, but if there is something else they always wanted to do in their life, then I would encourage her, even if I came home early to get the kids off the bus or picked them up at school.
No, because she apply her intelligence and skills to making better humans. Who wants low intelligence, unskilled people to raise their kids?
From a societal perspective yes, it's a waste of talent that could be contributive in the formal economy.
However just like everything else misogynistic that needs to be combated, it's her mind her body and her choice. If she chooses to stay home and can then it's all cool with me!
That depends on what her goals are. She can always do whatever it is that she does when the kids get older and are at school. Having somebody else raise your kids for the first few years of their life is basically letting somebody else determine the outcome of your child's permanent mental health and temporary physical health. It's not something to be taken lightly. Parents need to bond with their children in the early years for the child's mental health.
IF she chooses to pursue being a stay at home mom then there is no loss, same if it were a man choosing to be a stay at home father.
Their choice, plain and simple.
Depends if she is doing right to raise those kids or just have the TV on and give kids iPads… I am seeing this more and more…
I am also seeing moms who are parenting her kids well.
the truly skilled and talented people can make it from home... they could do both and more
besides... dedicating your life to those you love and also depend on you, is NEVER a waste of life
I say we should support women in whatever they decide to do, as long as its not immoral or unethical.
Our birth rate is declining anyway, so maybe we should actually encourage mothers as a society instead and do more to support them
I don’t think we should be shaming stay at home Moms
Our children should be raised only by stupid, unskilled, and untalented women. That is how we maximize the potential of the next generation.
Makes sense, right?
Nothing will ever be more important than someone raising their children, so no.
Being a mother is a big deal. You only get one chance and there are no do overs. It's a more important job than some fancy career kissing somebody's ass to get ahead
if you only see her worth as her career then yes.
talents and skills can also include good parenting
Not if that is what she wants to do since she could raise some amazingly smart and emotionally healthy kids that go on to do better then she ever could.
Nope because she passing on her knowledge and skills to her kids
Absolutely not- she is making an enormous positive difference in her children's lives. And there is plenty of time for her to work once the kids are older.
Maybe but it's her potential so she can do what she wants with it.
Obviously. But is also entirely her choice if she wants to waste it. She doesn't owe it to anyone.
No. Because a mother leaves her imprint on the next generation. Thier ability to think and love. When you think about it there is no GREATER calling.
Perhaps, but if it's her choice and she's a happy stay-at-home mom, that should be her sole concern.
Not if that is what she wants. Raising a new generation of children is more important than other jobs.
A stay at home mother or father has the potential to contribute greatly in that capacity if they apply themselves.
It's literally the most valued profession on this planet for all of time and history
If its her own decision then nothing is wasted.
Family is most important.
No, she can do both.
