My friend said that she wants to report her ex boyfriend for rape because she's mad she got a new girlfriend. do I report her?

I wrote her a huge paragraph saying if you do it the police is going to catch on, you're going to be questioned for hours, and then she basically brushed me off and she never brought it up again. but I don't know if she's planning on doing it for real or not. I don't like her ex boyfriend either, but if she makes a false claim and I know about it, can I be arrested too? ugh why the fuck am I her friend

Absolutely fucking not. That is one of the nastiest ideas I've ever heard. If it goes forward; it is 1) Illegal, 2) unethical, 3) will tag him as a sec offender for the rest of his life.
Its jealousy which is already the basest of emotions, and it can make people. come up with ideas. Beyond all that most attorneys will not argue a case where the accuser is obviously committing perjury. W/o getting a hospital checked rape kit, it should've it were true a been reported to police immediately. If she tries that there would be as much greater chance that she would wind up in prison not jail, prison. Its shit like this that allow defense lawyers to rip through and make public any/all facts about her life she likely would prefer to keep more confidential. worst of all, it is keeps legitimate rape accusations to be demeaning to completely innocent victims. If she were to do this it would be a type of evil that makes humanity capable not the ugliness already existing.
