Did I screw up or is this woman crazy?

So this is a situation that honestly I'm kind of afraid to ask about but I also would really, really like an answer. I was at a concert recently and of course there are breaks for bathrooms. As usual the lines for the bathroom was shorter for men than it is for the women. As is often the case the women try and go in the men's room line.

Now of course I didn't take a picture of the bathroom but like normal ladies went for the stalls but there were rows of urinals. They were very open like the picture below:

There was a long row of them and while the women who were approaching the stalls and I of course used urinals and so did other guys. I heard several women say "Seriously" I didn't look around since I was concentrating on my business. It's difficult to describe but let's just say the angle of the doors and lines made it easy for them to have a side profile of the guys. One lady stopped me and said "What's wrong with you" and another said "Exposing yourself like that, you know that there are kids here" (There were a good amount of kids mostly with their parents).

I said "what are you talking about" and they shouted at me that I was exposed and since the urinals didn't have screens nobody should have used them especially not in front of children. I was a bit put off and I tried to say that's normal and this is the men's room.

They complained that they didn't have a choice to come here and a lot of the kids really have to go. They said you're such an idiot. As I left other men went up and this lady yelled at them but I didn't stay long enough but a lot of them were upset.

A few ladies kind of laughed and said she was crazy but I don't know, I'm kind of shaken up about this.

Sorry if this is weird but honestly was I wrong? Is she crazy? Should men not use urinals in this circumstance?

Yeah waiting in the line for women is awful especially when you got to go, you gotta go… There should be more women’s toilets at venues to solve this issue. Period.

Now onto the Urinal topic. I hate Urinals however I still respect they exist and men need them to pee while the women / men utilize the stalls… The women who judged you for doing your business should’ve minded their own damn business since you didn’t mind them going in the mens restroom. They shouldn’t be upset since it is a mens restroom, when you gotta go you gotta go. It isn’t like you did it in the parking lot…

If the women's line was long, it sucks they had to wait but that doesn't mean you guys have to hold it forever. And those divider walls went pretty high, no way there was any actual "exposing" going on!

You want to say your view is valid because it’s the men’s room and women shouldn’t be in there. At the same time, these women made a choice to use those urinals and while inconvenient, it was easier than waiting in what I’m sure were very long lines, especially if they had small children. I don’t think you would have died just to give them a little privacy. The purpose of segregated bathrooms is the expectation of privacy. Did she choose the male bathrooms? Yeah. Were you a little disrespectful by staring at her when I’m sure she was already deeply uncomfortable to be in that place? Yeah. If you gotta go, you gotta go, especially if you’re dealing with a small kid that might not have full control of their bladder, going into the men’s room is easier than trying to wait it out just for the kid to wet themselves.

She didn't use the urinals just for clarity and she was waiting in line for the bathroom, I was the one who used the urinals. They didn't and they saw me using it (I'm guessing they saw me exposed) they were waiting in line for the stalls.

Its interesting, one of my good friends is a trans woman. And one of her observation was bathroom etiquette between the sexes. Women are much much more social than guys. They talk and joke in the bathrooms so its probably not surprising that they are also more observant.

Guys on the other hand have blinders on, we don't recognize that other guys are even in the restrooms we intentionally don't look, talk or interact. So its natural for us.

As the women were in the mens restroom they should conform to the etiquette of the area so no you were mot in the wrong. They were in breach of social etiquette. The proper response was "why are you looking?" As its predatory behavior to watch others in the restroom.

Well, it isn't a new thing that there are women who would rather a world without men, or having men be subservient to them.

The women's room is of course a holy and protected space, but you shouldn't have a men's room. The correct thing to do in that situation is yell rape, and that she's trying to touch your penis.

When I was in college, occasionally guys would have girlfriends use the men's room because the women's room was downstairs. I went in there one time to take a shower and there was a girl doing her hair/makeup at the sink. So, I stripped and got in the shower. My feeling was if she didn't want to see naked men, she shouldn't be in the men's shower room!

Depending on your location, it may not have even been legal for them to be in there. Learn your laws; know what you can do if it happens again. If need be, throw them out. Literally, if necessary.
