Refer to some of my previous post for some context of interactions between me and my crush if you want, but I was feeling very sad since it was the anniversary of my mom passing and my crush is religious so I know she would send words of encouragement to me which she did and in return I asked her if she needed prayer for anything she is going through right now and she told me a traumatic situation so I replied the next day some words of encouragement and she didn’t respond. So I am thinking about texting her to see how she is holding up since it’s been a week removed from everything. Or should I wait another week to text her?

I don't know what your last post you mention was because you are anon. Did you post recently where I can find and read the details? So if she didn't respond then I would wait a little longer. It isn't like she is going to be out on the dating scene during grieving. You aren't going to blow your chance. Only a week removed is not a very long time at all to be over things. If it was someone near and dear to them then it could take a long time to truly get over it and be in the right mindset to want to talk to someone that has a crush. I am not saying at all that you didn't do the nice and respectful thing by offering support. Everyone grieves differently and I don't see any reason why giving her a little more time hurts anything. She may reach out to you in that extra time that you give her too.
So I have this coworker who I’m attracted to. We both got hired at the same time so in our first week of working we were both alone in the break room and started conversation with each just making small talk and asking about work. So I stopped talking to her and their was this period of 5-10 seconds of silence as I kind of ended it and then she asks “do you have a girlfriend “ She always be teasing me and making fun of me and making witty and sarcastic remarks to me. I this is her personality also but I noticed I notice she always finds a way to touch or bump me when close by. A few times I tested to see if she would touch me when I seen her coming and knew she had space to go around and she still made slight body contact with me. Also sometimes when talking her feet will slightly touch mine and she won’t move her foot away. I always have to move mine first and I know she must feel our feet touching. She has walked by and ran her fingers through my hair and touched me on my back when I wasn’t paying attention and said hi or made a silly face at me. I’ve noticed on a few occasions I can see/feel her/ looking at me with the corner of my eye and when I look up and make eye contact with her I give her a head nod and say “what’s up” or “what?” She will respond by saying”nothing” and just walk away or make a silly face or roll her eyes at me. I notice she touches her hair and makes direct eye contact when we speak sometimes, she also seems to fix herself and her hair whenever I’m around regardless if other people are there or not. We don’t really text a lot or often mainly for holidays/birthdays events etc but I noticed she uses my first name a lot in the texts, which is interesting because I’ve never had a female friend do this. One time I was telling her about a situation with a girl I was involved with who said something sexual to me and I think she got jealous because she said in a sarcastic manner and rolled her eyes “ oh you like those type of girls”.
I posted it just above but yeah no i fully don’t expect her to be open to a relationship or anything right now and same as me. Just being genuine and showing I care for people in my life by doing this. I totally don’t expect her to be fine by now but just checking in because she did that when I lost a loved one
That is why I say I don't think that it hurts to wait for another week rather than coming off like you are pestering her. What if you catch her in a bad mood when she is really down? I would just say give it more time just to be safe.
Okay makes sense, thanks for your input 👍🏽. What did you think about context post in your opinion if you read it all?
Sure thing. Well as for the context it sounds like she is flirty at work. My biggest issue is the following that you should probably read. It is why I always say don't date coworkers.
My ex is my colleague. How to deal with this? ↗
Yeesh sounds like a all around shitty situation, yeah that’s why I never made a move because we worked together but now she doesn’t and I haven’t been to her church since earlier this year
Hmm man, that's a tough call. On one hand, I'd say a week after that heavy back and forth is long enough that checking in wouldn't seem too clingy. And she did open up to you about her stuff, so reaching out to really see how she's doing could be good.
At the same time, since she didn't reply to your last message, it might be best to give her a bit more space just in case. The last thing you wanna do is come on too strong after she's going through something traumatic already, ya know?
I'd say wait a few more days - maybe text her this weekend if you're still thinking about her. Keep it casual, like "Hey, just wanted to see how you've been holding up this past week." Leave the ball in her court to respond or not without any pressure.
That extra bit of time and space will show you care without coming on too heavy. And if she doesn't hit you back, ah well - you tried. But my gut says waiting a few days won't hurt your chances. You got this dude!
Yo I was totally thinking that same thing deep down inside just wanted to see if I was overthinking on this since I tend to do that. Thanks man
No doubt bro, wanting to check up on someone you care about is totally natural, but overthinking every little thing is easy to do too. I'm guilty of it myself sometimes for sure. That's why getting another perspective helps.
You seem like a real stand-up dude for being so supportive of your crush during a hard time. Just keep doing you, being genuine and patient. Don't stress if she doesn't hit you back right away either - she'll come around.
In the meantime, try to keep busy with your hobbies and friends to keep your mind occupied. A change of scenery can also help get you out of your head. You got this man, just ride it out and stay positive. Good things come to those who wait, ya know? We're all rooting for you bro, you're doing great.
