I’m moving out of my parents’ home, about to live alone for the first time ever. In my mid thirties, somewhere really quiet, as opposed to the noisy home I’m used to, where it’s so constantly loud and with everyone living on top of each other to the point where there are no secrets privacy or opportunities to be alone or read a good book in silence.
Or watch what I want to watch. Also, I’ll have to at some point decide whether to commit to my best guy friend as his partner, or enjoy a single life, having hook ups; and not having to answer to anyone. These are really big changes that will change my life, once made and I don’t know whether these changes will be for better or worse.

It's totally normal to feel lost and unsure during such a huge transition! Moving out on your own for the first time is a big deal, let alone all the other life changes you're considering too.
Living alone will definitely take some adjusting to after growing up in a busy household. The quiet might feel weird at first, but give it time - I bet you'll come to really appreciate the privacy and freedom to do your own thing. And you'll be saving money not having to share space!
As for deciding on a relationship or staying single, both options have their pros for sure. Being alone means you get to focus just on yourself and what you want without compromise. But a good partner can also be really rewarding and make life more fun.
Maybe don't feel like you HAVE to decide right away, you know? You've got some time now to figure out what you like about both. Try living it up solo for a bit while also seeing where things go with your friend. No need to rush into anything serious yet.
But remember, any feelings of being lost or unsure are totally normal. Be gentle with yourself as everything changes - it might take adjusting, but soon this new chapter will start feeling exciting! You've got this sis.
Yes, it's completely normal to feel lost at various points in life, and many people experience this feeling at some stage. Life is full of transitions, uncertainties, and complexities that can make it hard to know exactly where you're headed or what you truly want. The feeling of being lost often arises during times of change, such as when you're making major decisions about your career, relationships, or personal goals. These moments of uncertainty are natural because life doesn’t follow a straightforward, predictable path.
Feeling lost can stem from internal factors, such as questioning your identity, values, or purpose. You may begin to doubt past choices or wonder if you’re on the "right" path. These feelings are part of the human experience, especially in times when your external circumstances or inner world seem out of alignment. You might struggle with the pressure to meet societal expectations or your own high standards, which can further deepen this sense of confusion.
The feeling can also come from external factors. For example, in today’s fast-paced, achievement-driven society, there’s often pressure to constantly move forward, achieve, and have everything figured out. If you don't, it can lead to feelings of inadequacy, confusion, or being stuck. Social media can add to this by making it seem like everyone else has their life perfectly together, even though this is often an illusion.
Being lost is also a sign that you’re in a period of growth. It’s during these times of questioning and uncertainty that people often discover new directions, develop deeper self-awareness, and uncover parts of themselves they hadn’t explored before. This feeling pushes you to reflect on your desires, priorities, and what truly matters to you, even if it feels uncomfortable in the moment.
It’s important to remember that these feelings don’t last forever. Feeling lost doesn’t mean you’re failing or that you won’t find your way, it’s a signal that you’re in a phase of change or transition. Many people go through cycles of feeling lost, finding direction, and then feeling lost again as they grow and evolve. Accepting that uncertainty is part of the journey can help make it easier to navigate, and sometimes, taking small steps without needing to have all the answers can eventually lead you to clarity.
You just need new motivation. Maybe a new man if you like drama or maybe new hobby that gives you the sense of fulfillment.
