A lot of times a guy knows what a woman means but pretends not to since she will later pretend that she meant something different anyhow so eh. Or the other reason to ignore is that you're just not interested in what she wants. There's also times when a guy gives her what she wants because it's not over the top & she's been giving him what he wants. A trade.

Because women tend to think that if they think or act a certain way men should also do the same. They’re so used to hunting at things that they can tell what other women are hunting at. So they figure the same about men. But men usually don’t hint at things we just say what we want.
