if someone wasn't taught at home to communicate they won't communicate in the relationship... because no one showed them how...

now... being in a relationship is hard work... on both sides...

do you know how to communicate? great... show it to your partner... and have the patience to wait for them to learn a new behavior pattern... yes... learning how to communicate is changing the person's behavior and it's just after changing the way of thinking the hardest thing to change... it takes months if not years to accomplish smallest progress... why? because old patterns were created and supported in childhood... and changing things learned in childhood is the hardest thing... ask any counselor...

so in this scenario, one partner puts an effort into changing their behavior while the another supports them and shows patience and understanding...

but it's just a beginning... because proper communication requires assertiveness, "me" communicates, asking questions and not assuming, negotiating, aligning and compromising... it's a full time job for both partners... to learn what they lack and execute this knowledge

It’s not and you’re right. But there are differences In the sexes as to what problems are more common. It’s not everyone and there is good and bad of both.

It’s just there seems to be a lot of women who act this way.

Narcissism as a disorder is actually statistically more prevalent in men than women 🤷‍♀️ (I think women are just more often portrayed as narcissistic because the values we associate with being "feminine" in the west (kindness, compassion, etc) are more at odds with narcissistic traits (arrogance, self-centeredness, etc) than "male" traits (confidence, assertiveness, etc). Because of the difference in expectations, we perceive one more than the other. Ex. If a man is arrogant, he's often perceived as confident, if a problem is arrogant, she's usually perceived as rude.

That aside, I've met way too many men you are barely able to communicate their feelings that I genuinely think this is a problem that is less gendered than its perceived to be. I've also heard too many stories of a woman's side saying she'd told a man not to do something a dozen times (ex. please don't comment on my [insert insecurity here] or please don't use [insert random personal item here], but the man claiming to not have known because she didn't say it that specific time (verging on willful ignorance, in my opinion). But obviously that type of situation gets complicated fast because it's so dependent on what the specific situation is.

Depends what it's really about, like for example.. if it's something within a relationship like ones doing something the other doesn't like then get all confused as to why the others mad then that doesn't take a rocket sciences to know why, we expect you to just know why we are mad if it's something you did instead of playing and acting dumb.
