Why do Muslim women who don't wear headscarf yet still cover arms, and yet look secular/non Muslim, still desire that lifestyle?

I've seen "seemingly secular" attractive Muslim 20s women who look more Egyptian or look more like "Greek" even yet they seem to want to live a lifestyle both ways - they work in a secular job, talk secular slang and stuff, no accent, not even that they talk islamic or arabic as a secondly language however - they're still living it would seem some aspect of the religion or cultural lifestyles. So my point I ask is - why do they bother trying to have the best of both worlds! Surely that'll only lead to disappointment or a having to chOose eventually.

Update it's like they're dipping their toe in the water trying to be secular in a secular or Christian country, yet they're still clinging to their norms, minus hijab or other more obvious Muslim clothing besides arm coverings even on a hot day. I just wonder why such women try to appear "blending in" yet at the same time they're kind of leading unintentionally people on or even the eyes of men. Shrug
