Guys, have you ever dated someone whose emotional maturity just didn’t match yours? Like she’s fun and sweet, but every disagreement turns into a dramatic episode. Did it get better over time, or did you realize your girlfriend is immature and it was never gonna work?

I felt that way about the last guy I was seeing till I finally had to tell him not to speak to me anymore. No hi/bye/anything. Arguing and expecting better behavior became too draining. It wasn't worth the time I invested trying to patch things up.

I was that girlfriend back in my 20s and my boyfriend was already 30. Our disagreements were never dramatic, it was mostly him that liked to overreact BUT I was the one that usually initiated the unnecessary disagreements. He said it would usually start out as cute but then I’ll go overboard.

It was mostly because we were in different stages of our lives, I was still discovering who I truly am, making mistakes along the way, meeting the wrong friends, etc. He already went through all that so he was trying to guide me and I wasn’t having it because then I wouldn’t be learning and growing if he keeps me away from making any mistakes.

Eventually we learned to communicate better, I learned a lot about myself and thus was able to overcome my immature mindset.

Been there, and it’s honestly exhausting. My ex was super fun and playful at first like a breath of fresh air. You have to date someone who agrees with you about anything you care about.
Healthy relationships do not involve arguing at all.
