693 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. I don't know when modesty became the reason to wear a bra.
From the corsets of the 1800s, to the 1907 "brassiere"(the top half of split corsets, to the first bra cups in 1932, to 1950s "bullet bras", to pushup bras in the 1960s, bras were intended to enhance breasts and put them on display, not conceal them.

The absurdity of "training bras" for pre-teens and girls entering puberty was first marketed during the 1950s.
Of course, bras can provide necessary support to well endowed women. And they can minimize uncomfortable jostling when women engage in physical activities.
Bras are great for women who feel more comfortable wearing them. But somehow, people got sold on the idea that bras as mandatory attire.
I don't understand what is obscene about the natural shape of women's breasts. And to make a big deal over the sight of nipple points is crazy.
When I started high school in the fall of 1969, some girls were defying school dress codes by refusing to wear bras as a protest against sexism and in support of the "women's lib" movement. The school finally gave in and changed the dress code.
There was a "burn the bra" movement back then.
For the life of me, I don't know why a woman needs to wear a bra beneath clothing if she feels more comfortable not wearing one. Yes, there are perverts who act like they've never seen boobs before. And prudes get the vapors if they catch sight of boob jiggle or a nipple bump. But those people are immature and up tight.
Anyway, if you don't want to wear a bra, don't. Do what makes you comfortable. It's nobody's business. And thanks to those women who bring a bit of cheer into guy's lives by going braless. There's no harm in that.
Boobs are charming. So are bare legs and form fitting clothes that show off a woman's figure and round, bouncy ass.
There is no reason why women should be expected to hiding their boobs behind armor. Outer garments are sufficient.23 Reply- 9 mo

9 moThe "no bra" trend, or the increasing acceptance of women going braless, is a combination of comfort, fashion, and changing social attitudes. It's not a new phenomenon, but it has gained more visibility in recent years, with some attributing it to the pandemic's impact on work-from-home and casual lifestyles.
Here's a more detailed look at the factors involved:
1. Comfort and Convenience:
Many women find traditional underwire bras uncomfortable, especially for prolonged periods.
The rise of bralettes and wireless options has offered more comfortable alternatives, making it easier to opt out of bras altogether.
Working from home during the pandemic normalized casual wear and reduced the need for structured bras.
2. Fashion Trends:
Certain clothing styles, like backless tops, sheer dresses, and low-cut designs, often look better without visible bra straps or lines.
The "braless" look has become a fashion statement, embraced by some celebrities and influencers.
3. Social and Cultural Shifts:
The body positivity movement has encouraged women to feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin, regardless of societal expectations about bra-wearing.
There's a growing awareness of bodily autonomy and the right to make personal choices about one's clothing.
The "Me Too" movement has also played a role, with increased awareness that women should not be judged or subjected to comments about their clothing choices, including whether or not they wear a bra.
4. Health Considerations:
Some women find that going braless improves their posture and muscle tone, although research on this is still ongoing.
Others find that going braless reduces irritation and discomfort, particularly in hot weather.
5. Built-in Bra Options:
Clothing with built-in bras provides a supportive and comfortable alternative to traditional bras, allowing for more freedom in clothing choices.
This can be a good solution for those who want support without the bulk or discomfort of a separate bra.
In essence, the "no bra" trend is a reflection of changing attitudes towards comfort, fashion, and personal freedom, with a mix of practical, aesthetic, and social factors driving the shift. What's with the no bra thing these days?
Several factors are contributing to the growing trend of women choosing not to wear bras, including:
1. Comfort
Many women find bras, particularly underwire styles, uncomfortable, restrictive, and even painful.
Going braless is associated with a feeling of liberation and ease.
The rise of remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic further emphasized comfort, with many women opting for bralessness at home and finding it hard to go back to bras afterwards.
2. Health and breast health
Some sources suggest that not wearing a bra might improve circulation and blood flow, and potentially even strengthen chest and back muscles over time, according to Well Good and Real Simple.
Going braless can also reduce skin irritation and chafing caused by bras, especially for those with sensitive skin or larger breasts.
According to Well Good, concerns about bras causing breast cancer have been debunked by medical professionals, however, they can affect breast skin health, according to Real Simple.
3. Fashion and style
Certain fashion trends, like backless tops, sheer fabrics, and low necklines, are better suited to a braless look.
Some women choose to go braless as a way of expressing their personal style and confidence.
The popularity of bralettes and soft bras also reflects a shift towards more comfortable and natural styles, particularly among Gen Z.
4. Social and cultural reasons
The Free the Nipple campaign and the broader body positivity movement have encouraged women to embrace their natural bodies and challenge societal norms around breast exposure.
Some women view going braless as a statement of empowerment and bodily autonomy, rejecting pressure to conform to traditional expectations.
Discomfort with the sexualization of women's breasts and nipples can also motivate women to go braless.
In conclusion, the decision to wear a bra or not is a personal one, driven by a combination of comfort, health, fashion, and social factors.10 Reply

9 moI hated wearing bras as a teen. As an adult, I o ly wear them for work and other formal functions, and when exercising. For me, they've just always felt uncomfortable. They itch. They dig in to my sides, shoulders and neck. Underwire will stab you. God forbid part of your bra is sticking out cause it'll be extra scandalous.
Just go with whatever makes you feel comfortable. There is no right or wrong answer.46 Reply- 9 mo

9 moOh women and bras... a VERY complicated history that has been going on since bras were first invented around 1914 or so. Also ironic that the original creator of the modern bra (Mary Phelps Jacob/Caresse Crosby) lived long enough to see her own creation become a symbol of oppression in the feminist movement.
It's not a "these days" thing in the slightest. Has been going on since 1914 and ESPECIALLY picked up around the 1960s. It may be louder now compared to recent history but is not a "these days" type of thing.
I think the issue a lot of women have is less bras themselves and more the OBLIGATION to wear bras; due to a lot of women finding them incredibly uncomfortable and seeing it as a double standard as men can go COMPLETELY topless in public and yet women can't even go braless UNDER clothing.
If bras were an optional thing then the controversy around bras would likely completely end. So the women who actually need the support can wear them, but the ones that don't need the support don't wear them.
9 moIt's a non-issue. A reoccurring issue. See the women convince themselves "men" want them to wear them or really give a shit about wearing them... and then they revolt and go through a phase. They once again start to realize why they wear them and start wearing them again. It's actually other women and gay men that judge them is all they find out... and that us normal men like it. Then the cycle starts over like a bicycle wheel turning.
The Truth: If you're really hawt... no bra is even hawter. Other less endowed women and gay men hate the competition. If you're ugly and fat... you'll realize it and just not like the results. And of course the ugly and fat women don't like the competition so they tell the other bitches to stop. Eventually they forget about their social experiment and they cycle repeats. Perpetual retardation to try and prove straight men or oppressive and only realizing they all desire straight men's attention and start trying to check each other.
I'm not paying attention, so I have no idea in what phase the cycle is in right now. I'm guessing they went back to bras? Give it a few more years... they'll be back to bra burning like retards just like before. Then they'll realize why they wear them again and so on. Retards.
230 Reply- 9 mo
Think about it... they've been bra burning since the 60's off and on... why they still wear it when the straight men never really give an opinion on it other than "eww" or "that's hawt?"
- 9 mo
to put it simple they just want attention. and something to bitch about
- 9 mo
@Filthy_Immigrant I'm starting to think that's what a lot of women are all about.
- 9 mo
oh boy, there are multifactorial reasons and most not nearly what you have concluded
and so there is NO SINGLE REASON
men
- 9 mo
@CherryLove007 you mind explaining those multifactorial reasons? if they exist that is
- 9 mo
@Filthy_Immigrant first of all there is nobody pressuring a woman to wear or not wear a bra because there is no doctor or campaign happening about the need or wearing of a BRA. The 60s bra tossing was a demonstration rejecting conforming to beauty standards that happened to be from a Miss America contest in the 60s to challenge sexism and racism not about bras or breasts.
Pregnancy can grow larger breasts and need a bra for support and milk leakage. etc
Women wear for running and sport activities for ideal support and pain reduction.
Women wear for pain reduction from dense breasts and back issues.
If a woman has a piercing or two... she may want to hide that.
They can give women a feeling of security.
If she is breast feeding and cannot feed the baby at the moment the baby cannot latch on.
If she has sore nipples from sexy time then she would like a bra to protect from the clothing rubbing on her.
There are plenty more.
- 9 mo
@CherryLove007 Thanks for stating the most obvious shit ever that nobody needed to be reminded of. So why do groups of women need to go into a phase of ripping them off and acting like it's such a great stand against the patriarchy about every 6 years? I stated it's for probably for attention, but something about that triggered you? explain please.
Why does that 60's bra burning phase repeat itself over and over with no end in sight? Because that's what I was talking about. - 9 mo
@CherryLove007 I never said I was with or against a woman wearing bras. I was just pointing out that I dont understand why can't those who do want or dont want to can just do it without complaining
- 9 mo
ok but no imbecile... nobody burned any bras in the 60's they tossed them into the trash. And they threw underwear in the trash also.
WHO THE FUCK IS name names here - 9 mo
@CherryLove007 It is just for attestation right? Because it's such a pointless protest. They have reasons to wear them once the protest is done... just as you pointed out.
- 9 mo
A protest is a radical move and that's really all the fem's want to do is insist that change in women's rights happens. I personally think that its a protest against Beauty Duty... meaning taking time to make up yourself and wear stupid heels and parade in beauty pageants Thats my personal female opinion.
- 9 mo
@CherryLove007 is there a reason for the insults?
- 9 mo
You know all the things men do not have the burden of deciding and women do have the burden of what is cultural correctness. It's women being confused of how it got to this degree with all these beauty props and the essentials... ughhh
- 9 mo
@CherryLove007 What change do they want this time? I think you might be right that it's a protest against Beauty Duty, but I feel other women and gay men make those standards and then they say it's us straight guys that never asked for that shit to begin with. Let me give an example...
I've never met an bro that was like, "Damn, you know what I want in a woman bro... fucking clown eyebrows, or eyebrows drawn on with a black marker. Like for reals bro, they should shave their eyebrows off and draw them back on all fucked up looking." I've never met one dude like that... ever. But, I suspect other women and gay guys might push that shit... because they do that shit too. See what I'm saying?
And I think that's way more work than they should be doing, because us straight guys literally don't ask for it, and then get blamed for it as if we set those standards or even wanted it. Must of us dudes just ignore eyebrows completely. My example is different than bras, but still they're making as if we want them to wear bras and they're protesting us when we really don't give a fuck. You feel me? - 9 mo
@Filthy_Immigrant its a conversation that an insult was deemed appropriate. Check his insult at the end of Bones first opinion. Again men doing this bs

@CherryLove007 Brows and eyelashes was pushed by show business... that makes sense. Also there sure is a lot of gays in show business. Or notice how all those trans women do the brows and eyelashes and they go even more flamboyant than real women? ... You can see why I make the connection between the gays putting pressure on the women right? It's just something I've noticed over the years.
What confuses and frustrates me... why do us average straight men that don't give a fuck about brows and lashes eventually take the blame when women get sick of doing all that brow and eyelash work? - 9 mo

9 moCouldn’t tell ya. I have never worn a bra. So i never had to make the choice not to. If i had to guess, it’s one of two things. Either it’s about comfort and/or efficiency, or it’s about garnering attention. I don’t think anyone really believes it’s “empowering” anymore.
I watch a fair bit of programming that might be geared toward women and girls, because i see a fair number of ads for state of the art brassieres and menstruation accoutrements. Ell oh ell! As someone who has never worn one, it seems to me that bras have come a long way as far as comfort characteristics. But maybe the most comfortable bras are expensive. So not everyone gets their pick. I think a lot of females have come around to the fact that not every woman needs a brassiere. If you’re not well endowed, what’s the point? To hide your nipples when it gets a little chilly? It’ll be ages before your boobs sag, and even then not likely unless you pump out a couple of rugrats. Until then, free the tatas! Ell oh ell!13 Reply- 9 mo

Younger girls probably aren’t buying their own bras. Their parents probably aren’t buying them top of the line underwear until they stop developing, if at all. So i think my points stand. Younger females are also going to be testing their place in the social hierarchy, as well as community and society boundaries too. Which kind of goes back to attention seeking.
- 9 mo
Really?
649 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. That means you are not a feminist! It is where it all started because the patriarchy forced women to wear bras to hide the nipples. The first wave feminists squished their breasts flat, so they didn't look like they had them. The second wave showed the patriarchy a thing or two and not only took their bras off to show their nipples but they burnt them as well!
Sixty years on, the patriarchy is still forcing you to wear bras just to keep La Perla share prices up.
You should rebel and teach the patriarchy another lesson. We really need it.

I am a no bra enthusiast. It is a subtle way to display sexuality. Men (like me) have to be looking for it to notice it and we will have already cleared a girl as being attractive up front before we look Up Front. It is also my conviction that only women with modest sized breasts (A, B and sometimes C) should do that.
Seeing a girl who is braless with modest sized breasts with the inevitable nipples, perked from rubbing against her blouse make my heart flutter. It actually makes my day. It's really not lust or perv. Its appreciation of The Creators art.

9 moMy wife only wears a bra when she goes out. Around the house, and with friends, she goes braless. She says a bra doesn't feel good.
Did you knw that it's a myth that a man invented the bra. The first modern bra is attributed to 19-year-old Mary Phelps Jacob, who created the garment in 1913 by using two handkerchiefs and some ribbon. After patenting her design in 1914, she briefly manufactured bras at a two-woman factory in Boston, before selling her patent to the Warner Brothers Corset Company, which began mass-producing the garment.

9 moSeeing your age, I will be careful with my wording :) ...
To me, 'boobs' are fascinating. They are THE! most feminine detail that a human can have. Nipples printing through a shirt are catchy and can look nice.
Beyond this, it gives me no suggestions of being 'invited' or to have ''wrong ideas''.
So from my own side I have no objections.
Anyhow - we do have the wrong type of men around, and if a woman wants to cover what she doesn't want to be seen it's perfectly alright.
00 Reply 2K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Bras are uncomfortable and deteriorate the muscles which help naturally lift and keep firmer your breasts. There's nothing inappropriate. At worst you see a nipple through fabric. So what? You'd see that at a pool or beach, or with pretty much any man.

What about girls born to families that are Naturalists and from birth on up through teens or older she spends time at naturalist places where it's total nude everything is seen and everyone gets along just fine and you learn that your body is fine, everyone basically is alike and no reason to hide the body.
- 9 mo
@katiesmuff sort of reminds me of a book that got turned into a dodgy stage play
- 9 mo
It's not a rare thing, across our country alone there are many thousands of naturalist families and go to Europe and it seems to be normal life almost all over. Nothing sexual about it at all.

@katiesmuff yeah there’s a book about it. A story that got turned into a play
9 moAs a guy I feel like my opinion shouldn't count for much in this discussion, only to say I think women should be able to choose to wear a bra or not themselves, and if other people don't like it they can avert their gaze or deal with it. I personally do not find it distracting if a woman I'm working with or talking to isn't wearing a bra.

That's a sad opinion to have. Girls should get to choose what they are comfortable with as well.
- 9 mo
Even if they’re 11? It’s not right
- 9 mo
Especially if they're 11. No one should be forced to wear a bra.
- 9 mo
Yes really it is their choice. My boobs began to mature when I was around 11 (not enough that a bra would have done anything but feel odd) so I wouldn't wear anything and by the time I was 13 I really had boobs and even though my mom would buy the damn things for me I didn't wear them, and yes the boys would do their absolute best to get a chance peek at them, but I didn't care. As I grew up so did the girls and we have always been free with a now C cup. I feel very comfortable, my nipples are very prevalent and easily seen which has never caused me any problem.
9 moHonestly? I don't generally pay much attention to or think about a woman without a bra. If I notice it, I guess I just assume she's tired of wearing a bra and trying to be comfortable when she's out casually. Go for it. How does it impact me? Why do women seem to think it's so risqué or edgy to skip wearing a bra?
06 Reply- 9 mo
I get it’s comfortable but who wants to see our nipples? Not really up for that
- 9 mo
Honestly, I don't think most guys get all that excited over a woman's nipples getting erect under a t-shirt. I mean it's not like you have any control over it. And it's not like nipples are erect all the time. A lot of women have nipples that barely get erect / no bumps under a shirt. And nearly every guy has seen tits more than a few times. Like I said, I'd hardly react and be more concerned with not making a woman feel self conscious about simply wanting to be comfortable.
- 9 mo
Well yeh but I also don’t think girls younger than me should be doing it
- 9 mo
Didn't realize you're 15. Do some girls younger than you even need a bra? Dunno, never had daughters. Zero experience with that whole thing. I was talking about adults.

Depending on the upbringing, and their size. As a dad of 5 daughters all adults now. We had lots of conversations about when it's appropriate to or not to wear them. They were allowed to be nude at home and understood about body changes and what's appropriate and age was a slight issue as they had different moms and were built differently and that led to other conversations.
Yes the creepy part of boys and men looking and watching they were also talked to about as well.
00 ReplyOmg lol people certainly have a lot to say about bras and breasts
I don't think it has anything to do with right or wrong or morality - maybe modesty - I think obviously it should be up to each individual Woman -
as a guy I have to admit it's true that whether or not you're wearing a bra and what type of bra it is does have a direct effect on the ammount of attention and type of attention you will get from men00 Reply
9 moI think that bras were invented by a man for some sadistic reason. For eons, women had no bras; only in the last hundred years has the bra been around. There is possibly a reason for large-breasted women to wear a bra, and that is to help stop their weight from pulling uncomfortably; a guy can only guess.

9 moBreasts (torso) is a big part of the body and very central to the upper core and thus in my opinion people shouldn't even bother covering it. I mean, why? Cause it is offensive or "appropriate" for some people. I think the younger generation of girls and teens should just stop wearing them (and on the beach just be topless) so they can create a precedent and make the female breasts free again (as was in most ancient civilizations)

I have no idea, but as I've said before on other posts, unless I'm showering or sleeping, I always have on a bra, lol.

Yup same
9 moI prefer women with smaller breasts & I love it woman walks past me with her breasts jiggly like a couple puppies in there, or seeing her hard perky nipples, I am 70 years old & love the site of a great looking women walking past me. Dennis

9 moIt’s a personal choice. Some do it for comfort, some for style, some for statement vibes. You do you—braless, sports bra, lace balconette… all good. 👙🙅♀️😄

9 moMost women I know who go out without a bra do so because they find bras restrictive and uncomfortable. A good alternative is pasties or nipple tape.

9 moIf you’re going to go braless, at least put a nipple patch over you’re nipples.. otherwise I think its not appropriate
10 Reply309 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. I don't need necessarily a bra with 75B but for girls with bigger sizes is a bra a question of comfort.

9 mowomen been complaining about this for over half a century. if they dont wanna wear bras then just dont wear that shit.
to the women who condone such nonsense... just do what you gotta do and stop bitching11 Reply- 9 mo
Please speak on my opinion because I think you would understand what I was trying to say despite all the auto correct grammar errors that got thrown in there.
9 moI don't mind it.. I like being able to see women's nipples or faint sight of their tits through their shirts or tops. They know what they're doing to us guys when they decide not to wear a bra.
03 Reply- 9 mo
It’s wrong for girls younger than me to do it though
- 9 mo
I agree with that.. however, there wouldn't be much to see if they were to do that. And besides, I'm not going to be looking when I know it's someone younger than 18
- 9 mo
Hard not to notice
9 moI have been wondering the same thing! I just think it's just another trend that women are trying for some odd reason.

Right
Anonymous(45 Plus)9 moIt's summer. It's hot. The world is going to hell anyway. Nobody cares about anything anymore. So why not?

9 moFrom what women told me about bras... they are overly expensive, certain materials can chafe the nipples, and when they wear out, the underwire will stab you in the ribs. So financial and comfort reasons.

Anonymous(25-29)9 moJust a heads up it’s not a good idea to talk about breasts and bras on forums where adults are present. Considering your age, some respondents might be predators. Ignore any dms you receive

9 moOh that's been a thing for a very long time. A lot of ladies find their bras super uncomfortable.

9 moWhat no bra thing?
When we were all running around naked, who decided that clothes were appropriate?00 Reply Feminism, also it natural, so I don't have problem with that, bras are unhealthy I heard.
00 Reply889 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Not sure it's a good idea. I dated a girl like that years ago; she was 21 and had what my father used to describe as "raw eggs on a nail", generally in reference to very old women.
00 ReplyI think it depends on a woman's comfort. If she isn't comfortable wearing one, she shouldn't feel that she needs to.
Guys don't need to, so why the double standard?
02 Reply- 9 mo
Agree.. men's packages are pushing out of their clothes and showing their shapes and they don't wear a cup so why should women wear 2 cups.
- 9 mo
@CherryLove007 exactly, it's a double standard, plus guys go shirtless all the time
9 moIts personal choice, but pretty dang sexy when they go braless. Obviously they have to be over, say, 21 for it to be OK.
Simples...
00 ReplyEveryone should be comfortable. I like it when a girl does not wear bra but it is her choice
02 Reply- 9 mo
Why tho
9 moSome women find them uncomfortable and I understand. Some women find they help with back pain and I also understand. Like a lot of things I think it comes down to individual preferences

Anonymous(18-24)9 moI still wear a bra as much as I ever did and I'm not all that big.
20 Reply481 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. If she has small tits or such that a bra won't make a difference, it's sometimes preferable to not wear one for comfort reasons.
02 Reply- 9 mo
Yeah but they show regardless
9 moPeople who should know better are taking this obvious troll question way too seriously.

9 moWomen think bras are an invention meant to make women suffer, more
00 ReplyI think women have the right to be comfortable, guys go topless, so why the double standard

6 moI am more comfortable without a bra
12 Reply- 6 mo
why?
- 6 mo
I don't really like how bras feel. I do wear them if I am running or doing some exercise.
9 moComfort
622 Reply- 9 mo
I get it but girls literally younger than me doing it
- 9 mo
Probably just feel like they dont need a bra. I'm a B cup and feel like I don't need one.
- 9 mo
Bad parenting?
- 9 mo
It’s noticeable and wrong in my opinion
- 9 mo
Being Braless will always be noticeable. What are you wanting covered? What do you think the purpose of a bra is?
- 9 mo
It covers our nipples. I don’t want to show that
- 9 mo
Then cover your nipples but dont shame others who don't want their's covered.
- 9 mo
Im saying I think it’s wrong for girls younger than me
- 9 mo
That is your opinion so why worry about others
- 9 mo
I do care
- 9 mo
Why?
- 9 mo
Then maybe you should say something to these girls?
- 9 mo
@Wise4myage can't say it to ransoms
- 9 mo
It isn't her place to say something to somebody else about how they dress
- 9 mo
Randoms I mean
- 9 mo
I agree.
- 9 mo
@theionano3 you are caring way too much about something you have no control over and that doesn't affect you.
- 9 mo
You think there is someone who doesn't know they are their and what they look like in general?
- 9 mo
@katiesmuff I would guess the young girls know exactly what they are doing and want to see what looks and attention they get. I remember at 12/13 wearing thongs and making sure the whale tail was visible at times
- 9 mo
@Wise4myage And maybe she should just keep her mouth shut, do her thing and leave others to theirs!
- 9 mo
@katiesmuff I agree.
