Instead of saying" nobody likes me," why don't people say" nobody I like, likes me"?

I'm pretty sure someone was attracted to you, but you turned them down because of age, attitude, attraction, etc. Are you telling me if I or any gender, male or female, walked up to you and asked you out, you would say yes?
Saying," nobody wants me," engages sympathy, the person isn't being honest.
Then it trickles to " Women aren't picking the good men" and "the good men are single" Same for the women. Why are we blaming the opposite sex for not picking us and then complaining about them not meeting standards? Let's be honest, it's not anyone that meets your standards around you and leave it at that

I'm pragmatic, never had such a weird way of thinking like "nobody likes me". It's irrelevant if people like you or they don't do because people always instrumentalize others and you're just useful or you aren't.

Saying “Nobody likes me” is a form of overgeneralization. It takes the specific pain of a few rejections and expands it into a vast, universal, and inescapable problem. It is a defense mechanism and a weak one at that.

True, but some people lower their standards and still can’t get anyone (by anyone I mean a romantic partner for girls and either a romantic partner or just a sexual partner for guys).
