In the place where I work, there is a girl that shows a very specific tic in a very specific circunstance. Every time I go to talk to her, she almost instinctively grabs her phone in her hand. Then, she looks like very impatient and uninterested, as if counting the seconds for me to leave. Sometimes, she outright ignores me and starts using the phone, as if I am not there.
BUT, she only do this when she is dating. When she is single, she talks to me like a normal person. I can tell if she is seeing someone or not by this habit. Also, so far as I could observe, she only do this when I am around. With other people, she behaves normally.
It is a very specific situation and I would like to understand what causes this behaviour.

It is quite simple. She does not want to be bothered talking to other guys when she is in a relationship or dating. You point out that she is "normal" when she is not dating but once she is dating someone she acts distant. I think this should be rather self explanatory. Is it necessary? No. People in relationships should be able to talk to other people (especially collegues) without being weird or acting as if it is wrong. Nonetheless that is her choice to avoid contact with other men if she feels like that is the right thing to do when she is dating. She isn't employed there to be your friend but only to do her job. So long as her behavior is not effecting her being able to do said job then you really can't do anything.
Yes, but she only do this with me. She acts completly "normal" with every other men in the company. And I am not complaining, I just want to understand because I think it is kinda weird.
