My lifelong close friend (27F) won’t introduce me (26M) to her boyfriend of 2 years?

My friend (27F) and I (26M) have been friends since 3rd grade (we ironically started as frenemies). Our friendship kind of fluctuated until we became pretty close during covid and have helped each other through mental illness, rehab, relationships, and basically are each other’s only close friend.

She has been dating a guy for around 2 years, they live together, and I have still not met him. I’m not that upset over it, it’s just curious to me as we hang every week and I ask her to invite him. I helped her with her hinge chats to him and we share a few similar interests according to her. She wishes he would spend more time with her so maybe this is her way of payback though I doubt it, as she is not that kind of person.

She says it’s because she’s not sure if he’s going to be around in the future but they have both met each others families. I’m pretty easygoing and will always support her (not to mention a people pleaser) so it’s not like I would fight or insult him. He knows of me and doesn’t sound like he’s controlling. Maybe it’s because her mom used to ship us? Anyone been in a similar situation or have any thoughts? Thanks.

Move on bro. You’re in the friend zone for a reason. There’s no real benefit to being in the friend zone. She’s not interested. More than likely he doesn’t like the idea of her having a male “friend,” especially one as close as you. Men tend to not like that even if you two have been friends almost all your life. I’m pretty sure she want him to be her life long, that’s why she doesn’t bring you around cause she’s concerned that he will breakup w her because of you. Maybe I’m wrong but you sound like a beta male talking the way you do about a female friend, like your feelings are hurt. Sounds like he isn’t that type, so he’s not going to put up w it. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s lying to him about you. Guarantee if you move on, if they breakup she will come back. That’s because she more than likely gets resources out of you.

Maybe she is doing the right thing. Imagine how her boyfriend would feel/ react if you 2 met and she said that you and her are just friends. He may take it the wrong way. Its better this way
