My friend won't let me meet her boyfriend?

My best friend has been "dating" or kind of seeing this guy for at least a year now and I still haven't met him! She's my bestie and I really just want to meet the guy she keeps talking about I feel like I've known this guy my whole life. It just really makes me sad :[ She said I could meet him after they had sex and now they've don't that and It's a new excuse. I tried asking her about it and she says "I want to really know him before I let him meet you or people I know" I don't understand this... Why isn't she letting me meet him and how can I convince her to let me? And he lives about a half hour away and they see each other every once in a while if that helps any.

4) I've been with my boyfriend for 11 months now and neither of us have met the others best friend. For us its mostly a geographical issue since he moved from halfway across the country and my best friend goes to school half way across the country in the opposite direction. But early on his best friend made it know that he didn't want to meet me until we had been together for a year to make sure I was actually going to stick around. So your friend might just be be concerned that this isn't really going to last also.

Ok back to point 4 then. If she is afraid that this guy isn't going to be sticking around long term she may not want to introduce you to minimize the damage done to her life when he leaves. Does that make more sense?
