My friend doesn't want me to date her brother, what should I do?

Long story short here are her reasons
1. She would rather us see/date other people
2. I'm her friend and he's her brother that's how it should remain
3. She would not even want us to be close friends (although I have a friendship with him already)
They have a very close relationship, I joke about it all the time with them. But I know she can be pushy in regard to who he dates.

I honestly don't think she's given valid reasons, aside from coming off as selfish (she admitted this too). But a part of me hopes that if I do become serious with her brother that it will upset her. So I need some advice.

Also forgot to add she also said this "I'm possessive of my brother and friends so them dating is not an option."

I think its because she takes it for granted that she is more important to her brother than you are and she is more important to you than her brother is and if you guys date each other - all of a sudden she will not be as important to her brother as he female friend. She doesn't want to feel left out. If you can tell her about how happy you are to be so close to the brother's family and try to include her in your life more - she might tone it down. However - she might also be worried about her not being able to tell her brother or you secrets about each other or about herself since the message might get passed from one person to another.

The first part is correct. She doesn't want to "feel" left out, but that's life. You cannot be included in everything! However, if I want to have a relationship with anyone my time will be spent with them and her. That won't change. I also think its a misery loves company thing with her. If she's single, I should be single. We are already CLOSE friends. I know her family well. We don't really discuss our siblings when we're together so that won't be a huge problem for me.

If you feel a very strong connection go for it no matter what, this is probably just a joke though but I have nothing else to do

No, she's very serious. I know her well and she's said it in the past. So this was no surprise to me. But if there is a connection I definitely will go for it.
