Honestly? because if you're doing it for the other person, not just to impress them, they'll pick up on that and appreciate it. It has to be mostly because you genuinely care about them and want them to feel special. As for whether or not I'm sure that it's worked for me, it took the guy I like and I a while to realise we were into each other. We started off as close friends. I knew first. He figured it out later. We're not yet dating because we are busy with community college studies, so we can find jobs to last us for the rest of our lives and establish ourselves, so we've both agreed to hold off on dating=ng and wait for each other. We are currently both too busy and too tired for romance. But we act like we're together in every other way. I guess honestly, everything in life is a gamble. Even married couples have no guarantee that they'll stay together forever, these days. You just have to trust in the other person, trust in yourself, the relationship or potential relationship; and hope for the best.
