I've been talking to this girl for a while and we've gone to lunch together a few times. We've been texting and I asked her on a date last weekend but she was busy. Last night we were texting and whatnot, then she said I should pick her up and we could go get something to eat. I was busy at the time but I said that I could in about an hour and a half. So then I text her about 1.5 hrs later and she says she still wants to go but she's too tired.

I was kind of piseed because I had other people trying to make plans with me and I told them I had something else to do. Could she really have just been tired just 1.5 hours later? I don't really understand.

she may have asked you to lunch because she likes your company as a friend or she was bored. She texts you because she wants you to like her weather she likes you or not. Just ask her if she's intereted or not because you don't want to put yourself in that position of getting hurt by her, because she's the type that will keep going along with it until you give up. Its her way of letting you down easy but still liking the attention at the same time. I have friends who do this to guys and its not right but it happens.

Two of her friends have come up to me before asking if I liked her and said that I should date her. She also hints at things sometimes like today when we were texting I said something about my dorm always being messy and she said she would help me clean it or also saying we should go to a John Mayer concert together (we both like john mayer) and playing edge of desire in the car when we go to lunch.

I would say, ask her out two more times and if both times she makes an excuse, just give up. But maybe she really was tired who knows, just try two more times and if still no luck, forget it.

People tend to make time for things that are important to them. This girl has turned you down multiple times, not just for a date, but also for "hanging out" in general. That's the behavior of an extremely uninterested girl right there.

She is the one that suggested going in the first place and she also asks me to lunch most of the time. She also texts me first about 1/4 of the time. Is she playing hard to get or something?

It doesn't matter what she did previously; it matters what she's doing now. If you were interested in a girl, would you risk losing her by turning her down for dates and canceling on her at the last minute?
