Is anyone else bothered with this behavior?

I'm sorry to bother people about this, but I saw it recently (I know it's an old clip from July). I was just so so disgusted by everyone's lack of compassion including both the hosts AND the audience that was encouraging the behavior.

A quick background of the story is that Katherine Kiu Becker poisoned her husband, restrained him on the bed, and cut off his penis and threw it down the garbage disposal. She did this because he was filing for a divorce.

What disturbs me most about this scenario is not the women's lack of compassion or the laughing at the man's expense, but the appearance that they derived a sadistic thrill out of it and almost encouraged this behavior. I couldn't even imagine the backlash if this was a group of men acting similarly if a woman was mutilated. I'm pretty sure we'd never see them on t.v. again. I really don't want to make this an issue of sexism. Unfortunately, some people might see this and say this is how women are. If anything, them being women just allowed them to use the double standard to get away with it more easily, but I don't think that's the reason behind the behavior. I'm starting to believe there's a darkness and a sickness in human nature that allows people to gain satisfaction in other people's misery. I just want to know how can these people obtain such a sick satisfaction out of the misery and mutilation of an actual human being?

The bizarre part is that when I heard of this, I didn't think too much of it. I though "oh, another bobbit type thing...oh well." To be honest, I hardly think much of any horrible thing I see or hear about from the news. I know this might make me callous and desensitized, but I try to get by in life with my naive stupidity that while some people may perform such horrific acts, most of society is ashamed of these people and would never encourage them or their behavior. Is this truly f*&)$d up? I hope I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Here is the clip. Sorry for any comments on it, I didn't upload it and it was the only video I could find.

And here is the (rather insincere) apology. By the way, I'm not the uploader or the commenter of the video. Please skip to !:30 for no commentary.

It keeps posting under sexuality even though I keep checking on the "behavior" section. Why?

It's probably too late, but is there any way to move this question? I don't know why it went in the sexuality section since I checked the behavior box. I think this is a question more suitable for behavior.

Thanks guys. I've figured out all the things that upset me. They're in the comments and answers. One thing I forgot to mention is that it upset me that basically everyone was participating in this debacle, even the audience . Not one person made a real effort to stop it. Sara Gilbert briefly mentioned it is sexist, but it was a weak effort and someone quickly jumped out to say it was different, but did not explain why or how. I still respect Sara, but I find the rest classless and hopeless
