Why do most women 'stick together' and defend what other women do?

Guys don't do this usually. At the most they won't talk about a guy who goes off.

But a woman who goes off, normally sensible women, even if they don't like the woman in question, will almost always defend everything the woman says or does, at least in public.

Sure among each other they'll cluck their tongues, but to any man who criticizes her, she'll be defended, the man will be attacked in order to change the subject, and so forth.

Probably because we understand what made another woman go off and we're trying to give our insight to a man who may not see what went wrong. Even if we don't agree, it's not about defending another female, it's more about just trying to explain for her. There are some universal tiny triggers that will set most women off that never even cross a man's mind. The intention is to tell that man what he did, so that maybe he'll avoid it in the future. Not defending other women.

Lol well mostly it's how situations are handled and how we interpret certain responses. For example: If a man and a woman have two different points of view and neither can seem to change the others mind, a man will sometimes just start to agree with the woman. In his mind, he might be thinking that he'll just agree to save time/frustration/breath but a woman will interpret it as him saying "Shut up! You're wrong, I'm right, get over it!" She'll then get an attitude and he has no clue why.

The moment you "explain for her" automatically means you ARE defending the other woman. There were times in my life were the woman was clearly wrong on all cases, yet women still defend the guilty one no matter how wrong she is. Happens every time a situation like that occurs. It's a behavior that completely turns me off.

I don't think you should say ALL women do this, because not every woman does this.

I don't. If a person (man or woman) is wrong about stuff or how he/she is acting, I'm not gonna defend that person. Why should I if I think they're wrong?

Women don't automatically back each other up. Ever heard of a "cat fight"? It usually starts with subtle hatred and jealousy and builds up. Some of use are above that, but we still see the forest for the trees...

Yes, but tha't ony among each other, if there's a man involved in the argument, the two women will nearly awlays back each other up against him..even if they'll be fighting with each other a soon as he's out of sight..right?

Not really. I've seen sisters/cousins/bffs fall apart because of their views on a guy. I've even seen them compete for the same guy. It can get really gruesome. Of course the same can be said of many guys I grew up around as well.

Well, yes, competing for a guy..I meant the situation where there's a conflict or an argument betw a girl and a guy, the girls will nearly always 100% back up the girl, automatically, even when they KNOW full well she's in the wrong.

Guys generally won't do that, certainly not to the same extent..

Hmm. It's more common to hear others say that the argument is "between you two" than to jump in and defend either.

No, generally they won't jump in, but still, when they get involved at any point, they'll automatically back up the girl, no?

I really, really just haven't seen or experienced that sort of solidarity. There is ONE exception to that rule, and even that girl backs away from certain situations though her friend needs her support.
