Why does my girlfriend want me to walk her home?

So at night when we are finished on our date or our work shifts end my girlfriend always asks me to walk her home and when I do she holds onto my arm the whole time. I don't mind walking her home and stuff its sweet and cool but why does she always want me to do that and only at night?

You know guys are supposed to be gentlemen and walk a girl home, especially if that is his girlfriend.

She probably feels safe when you walk her home which is why she wants you to walk her. Also at night its not safe to walk alone, especially for a girl. Any creep can come up behind a girl and suffocate her or even rape her.
